I.D and money laundering etc

Hi. I'm london based and used to follow this forum avidly years ago. Glad to see it back. Just wondering how you guys in the states are in relation to showing I.D at casinos. I havn't seen anything posted re.this for ages. Over here you have to have I.D screened and your face photo'd to gain entry supposedly because of money laundering legislation, hence you might as well get your comps at table. Heat still remains fairly low....fortunately.

In general, this only becomes an issue when a daily cash transaction approaches $10,000, when they are *mandated* to get your identity/social security number, for laundering prevention purposes. Keep your buy-ins and cash-outs much lower than this and in general you're ok.

(Many casinos try to get ID for any transaction, but they don't generally insist unless they are required to as above.)
