Insurance question for Don S

Don - across the street, in response to the ace side count insurance question you posted, "Once you use this methodology, the index for DD insurance is no longer +2.4; rather, it is +2.9. And so, you insure. "

I was unaware of the index change from 2.4 to 2.9. Can you explain the math behind that and where it's been documented?

I hope you don't mind me asking the question here, but I've decided to no longer participate in that cesspool of never-ending OT posts.

As a quick reference, I got the number from the old Wong "bible" edition of Pro BJ, p. 120. But, the definitive paper on insurance was written by Michael Canjar ("MathProf") in an article called "Advanced Insurance Play in 21: Risk Aversion and Composition Dependence," pp. 3-34, published in Optimal Play: Mathematical Studies of Games and Gambling, edited by Stewart Ethier and William Eadington.
