I am a member of BJtheforum, BJ21 and this one. I am considering BJA but the price is a bit higher there and I wonder if its worth it. They seem to offer some good stuff. Anyone a member of BJA? Any other BJ forums you would recommend?

I joined BJ21 and Blackjack the forum as paid member and it's been totally worth it. The archives, the discussions, the Law Vegas casino reports... Everything. Many posters only participate in the paid forums. They helped me through losing streaks where I thought I would quit and helped me figure out what I was doing wrong.

Nah that’s bullshit. Even though BJ21 is kinda dead these days, I think that was one of best forums to talk blackjack on a few years ago, hands down. BJ21 was and is still a paid site. There’s good discussions on BJA too.

I figure a blackjack forum is a lot like a newspaper. How many newspapers do you need to get the news. At some point the law of diminishing returns sets in. If you join BJA I would not renew my BJ21 membership as that is also quite expensive. Norm's paid site is not very expensive, and I think Norm's site at present is the best and is mostly free.

By the way, didn't you ask this same question a couple months ago?

Yup, asked and decided not to join then. Since then, BJ21 has gone down and there are many here that are also on Norms site. I get emails from BJA and maybe they have an active group. You also get the casino conditions report.

I don't disagree that the several of these sites are valuable for the archives, including this one which has extensive archives and is still free.

I am just wondering if so many posters of these paid forums have helped you through losing streaks and helped you figure out everything you were doing wrong....Why do you continue to burden us all with the same questions, repeated over and over, on an almost weekly basis? o_O

If you seriously look at my "repeated" questions, some of those threads ended up quite long. While some tended to use the thread to get their hostilities out, many others answered, some repeated their answer. Unlike you and many others sitting like vultures for years at these forums, there are newbies and new to the forum who read the answers and are generally not aware of questions and threads of 1-4 years ago.

I may be like the slow child who needs reinforcement and answers repeated but some of you are like the intolerant abusers of such learners.

You constantly talk about how important discipline is in being an AP and you lose credibility when you do not show the discipline needed to ignore those questions you do not wish to answer because a poster has repeated a question of a question has been answered before.

I'm a member of BJA, along with BJ21, BJtheforum, Blakcjack science and recently this site. I also read the forum from a blackjack gambling forum. I'm still trying to figure out how all these sites are connected since I see many of the same posters on the different sites. I sometimes wonder why a person posts on one site rather than another. It appears like BJtheforum is the most activity and has the most knowledgeable bj players.

I've found BJA very good and worth the money, at least for me. But then again, I learn something from all bj sites. This might not be true for the experienced bj player but I'm still new to this.

One of the big values on the BJA site is all the podcasts. I've found these very good! I listen to them on the way to casinos, especially when I'm driving for several hours. I've learned a lot from these podcasts, and they're entertaining! Colin does an excellent job with his interviews. If for no other reason, I'd recommend BJA just for the podcasts, but the forum is good too..and active.

Btw, I've found ZeeBara posts very good, as well as entertaining, especially all the responses. He asks a lot of questions I've thought about asking but too scared to ask. I'm still learning too but feel like I've come a long way in the last year, with the help of all the experts on these bj sites. It's a great community!

In my opinion, you're half right. There are several posters there who come across as "experts" in their dogmatism, but they are far from it.
Also in my opinion, the most knowledgeable posters are on BJ21. Because BJ AP is a "mature" science, many long-time and knowledgeable players have very little left to say. You'd do yourself a great service by reviewing the archives of Posts of the Month there. That's where you will find many gems of great info.

You shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions. I asked a ton of questions when I first started. But Zee has been on the boards for years and he’s been asking the SAME EXACT questions every single year. And he’ll ask those same questions over and over across different boards.

But my repeated question leads to some good answers that benefit newbies and others who may or may not have been on the forums for years like you have been. I ask again to see if there are any new answers and I got it. I am trying to decide where to put my money and the last time I asked this question, BJ21 was quite active. NOw, I wonder if that money is better served on another forum.

Thanks for the advice 21forme! I have spent a little time going through the older posts on BJ21 but I haven't reviewed the posts of the months. I plan on doing this. A little background on myself. I've played bj as a hobby off and on for the past 20 years at very low stakes. Even at these low stakes, I have got backed off and trespassed, but not very often. I know the game well, having read about 20 bj books but probably haven't applied the principles as well as I should.

It's only in the past year that I've got more serious about bj. This is when I started getting memberships to various bj forums. I've been surprised at how much I've learned from these forums. I kind of kick myself now that I didn't do this 20 years ago. I've also met some APs who have travelled through my area in the past year, which has helped put a face to a name, and realize these are real people that really do this for a living. This has probably helped me more than anything in giving me the confidence to take my game to another level.

Everybody I've met has been great! I know the game well enough to know what is good advice and what is not. It's only been six months since I made my first post on a bj forum so I'm still a little new to this. I learn from other people's posts. Before I ask too many questions, I'll be spending more time going through the archives on these forums. Thanks again!
