Hey everyone this is my first post and I thought id have some people weigh in on what Ive been up to so far. Been going up to Morongo every so often just to play for fun (I know it sucks but its close and the CSMs are gone) and I decided to learn a little bit about advantage play because hey why not right? I dont have nearly the bankroll that I know you need typically go up there with 100 to 200 bucks but ive done alright so far. Been going up there and just watching tables til i find one with a favorable count (takes quite a while usually) before i sit down. Last time i went came up 200 and change (overall up around 500) and i just wanted to know if you guys think im just kind of stumbling into wins like ur average dumb a** or if maybe this has helped me out some. been using hi-lo and im fairly competent and ive got BS down pat. i also want to know if all this effort is worth it for recreational play or if i should just play BS.
Your help and advice is appreciated.

I think it is definitely worth it for recreational play. Realize that the success you saw was positive variance and was much greater than your expected return for such a small bankroll. Continue to practice/play and increase your roll as you gain confidence. 500-600 BR is too small to be maintained unless you experience some extreme positive variance. Do not be discouraged if you lose your entire roll.

I am not as experienced as some of the others members, but this website is the best. Scour these forums. Read read read.

With such a small bankroll you have a very high probability of walking out empty-handed. You've been lucky so far. As long as you're OK with this, then have at it. I'd suggest backcounting until +1 (maybe +2). But your hourly earn rate will be very, very low, and you'll be standing around a lot.

Still beats playing to lose though.

thanks for the help

Yeah baggins i made sure to read up loads before i even contemplated going to the casino and this forum is the absolute best very little BS on here and by that I mean bullshit not basic strategy . Not to mention the countless hours of practice. And john thanks for the tip about backcounting so far I havnt even contemplated sitting down until the count is up to about +4 (due to my limited bankroll) which is probably why I spend the majority (hours upon hours) of my time standing around watching but like you said it beats just playing to lose. My grandfather is an AP and he said nowadays patience is key because you really cant find decent games anywhere.

I'd look for better pen..CBJN says Morongo cuts 2 deck off on a 6 decker. It's tough to find many positive decks and when you do it's over before you get many bets out.

My experience is that further south 20-30 minutes is worth the drive.

2decks cut off is ideal for shuffle trackers. With those decks you could wong in on hot slugs of cards. Usually with a six deck show decks previously played 1 and 4 get shuffled together. Those are the only decks that get shuffled where you saw each card. You could sit back and back count the first deck and 4th deck wanting 10 and ace rich slugs within those deck disregarding decks 2 and 3. Decks 1 and 4 after a track and a high negative count will be shuffled and at the bottom of the stack then cut card given to a player. If you get the chance just cut a sliver above 2 decks from the bottom and bet according to the true count you find useful.

Player edge 3 percent.

There are many different ways that add advantage in shuffle tracking if you are a very logical person.
