    Atlantic City Update

Looks like I am going back to A.C. after a 2 year hiatus. PA has been good to me. I somehow still have comped rooms at C. and B.

I’m bringing two serious BS players along with me. How are the conditions at each? Rooms really don’t matter since we will be playing most of the night…

I hear after the name change, the hotels have gone down a little…? Any insights will be helpful! Thanks!

I get no comments except for B.

B was great until recently. Floorpersons have halfshoed every table when a notorious AP has hopped from tables to tables. By the way, I was planning to have a party at B., but not now because of the heat.

Rooms unusually a pain to get this week, at least for me. Think there’s some sort of NJ teacher’s conference going on there this week.

    Good time for poker.

Penn State administration may be looking for a place to hide out.

    C. seems a slightly sweatier than most places, although nowhere near the sweatiest. They were getting a little sweaty with with me because I didn’t have a players card and wonged out. Seems like something they look for. Also C. is run with a bit more professionalism than other places in AC, which makes me slightly more on guard. Always prefer a place run by a bunch of yahoos who don’t seem to know what they’re doing.

As far as conditions go, pretty and consistently meh.

AC low stakes S17 is almost extinct, although with 2 deck cutoffs they can still be found sometimes at Resorts, Hilton, Tropicana, when they are not at all busy.

Make sure your ploppy friends know to double 11 vs. Ace, etc. on a H17 game.

I haven’t been to AC since PA casinos opened, too. But I have something to contribute on this subject.

Did anyone catch the latest “Castle” episode on ABC? It is about Atlantic City casino. They have the latest facial recognition and counter catcher software. They move swiftly once the software decides someone is counting. The casino personnel either expel the counters off the property or bring them to the backroom to scare them. I know it is a fiction. But the software and the surveillance room which are real looks impressive.

Anyone recognizes the casino? I think it is Taj Mahal. I won’t count there.

Luckily they are both controlled by a human, and probably a disgruntled one getting paid minimum wage. There are several ways to make that poor person’s job almost impossible. You would be surprised how useless that software is if it gets incomplete of inaccurate information.

I have counted there. I did so when I was not so good and they quickly realized that I was. They put a speed demon on me and I played a shoe against him and held my own. It was fun. They took no action against me. And what are the consequences for counting in AC anyway? If you play unrated, it means you are condemned not to play there until the next shift. Oh, no!

If they do I am COMPLETELY unaware of it

Dislike Taj for other reasons, like tables crowded with subhumans, the time consuming Bust it sidebet, carjacking murderers roaming the parking lot.

I almost wish I could play at a casino with such supposed technology.

Something to mull over for the casinos:

Just got in from a weekend at B.

I definitely see how the PB’s are worse now. There were 3 or 4 hovering around my area. I was actually being accused of being a drunk customer after getting back from the bathroom and tripping over my seatmate’s shoe. What an idiot.

However, the last night, was at a perfect table and left A.C. with absolutely no heat. + 210 units!

Be aware of 2 AC casinos’ unorthodox practices. ### is one of the 2 AC casinos which has manually arranged cards in a high-low order before shuffling new cards circa 6am~8am. Don’t take my words for it. Go see for yourself.

Look here and you know what I mean:

    High: Akqj1098765432 2345678910jqkA
    Low: 2345678910jqkA Akqj1098765432

It was the main pit right off the Lobby.

I did make a point to drive over to see the status of Revel…It looks gorgeous.

Hopefully they take the high road and have liberal rules.

That is how cards come out of a fresh pack straight from the manufacturer. Nothing odd here.

x2……Go buy 6 decks of cards, open them up and spread them and this is what you get. This is standard and if you are the first player at the newly opened table you will be asked to verify all the cards are there before they execute the first shuffle.

Compare and you’ll see the differences:
