AC report

#1
I just got back from atlantic city and just wanted to let everyone know how the conditions were. The borgota was awful, no spots at any tables no 25$ or 15$ spots at all, and only one 50$ table that was full. If that wasnt bad enough they were cutting the deck almost in half everywhere i looked. All the Harrahs locations also had awful pen i found one table at ballys with decent pen but h17 and completely full all the time. The best conditons were at the tropicana, they were cutting one deck from 8. You can see the card on the back of the stack when they flip it up for the cut very easily at the trop to, so if you are doing some card steering its nice. All the tables there are still s17 also. The other place with good pen was hilton, not to many people play here so its easy to find a spot at whatever table you want. they have 6 deck s17 here at a few tables, but the rest is 8 deck h17. The only bad thing here is that there is nms at all the 25$ and up tables. So if you want to wong you gotta keep it under a grand max. Hope this was helpful to anyone trying to go play in ac anytime soon. I did not play any of the trump stores.

I was there around 1 a.m. one night it was less crowded but no 10 dollar or 5 dollar tables at all and like i said awful awful pen. Stick with what i told you trop or hilton. I go to AC once a month or so on play at least 10 hours a day all over town.

Are you sure you went to all of the bj tables at the borgata since there are clusters of them all over the place? Reason why I ask is because I have never had a problem recently finding a seat on the weekdays and I generally play at the $10 tables or $5 table if I can get a seat. The lowest I ever saw the penetration was maybe where they cut 2 1/4 decks. Trump Plaza, when I went there last week had penetration of 75-85% They also stand on 17 but the minimum table you'll find is for $15. Stay away from Bally's. I repeat stay away from Bally's! Their comps are horrible and it's all h17 for $15 minimum tables unless you're playing late on a weekday night.

Please address pen' at Trump Plaza and Bally's
ballys cuts off about 1.75 on their 8Ders. VERY dealer dependent - you can find a few cutting off just over a deck.

trump cuts 2D off their 6D NMSers

I was there earlier this week and agree with the above.

The HET casinos are terrible BJ games, though the high roller pits sometimes have decent games (6D S17, decent pen at times.)

I agree, I used to play a lot at Bally's but realized how terrible the games are starting to become. On top of only 1 table being S17, the tables seem to always be full. Plenty of other good places to go.

It's simple. Backcount, wong in/wong out, use a large bet spread...You may have to look up some of the terms if you are unfamiliar with them.

wonging in and out is a pain in the butt, I gotta say. You stand there forever waiting for a good count and then when it does come, oops someone took the open seat.

I hate that when someone jumps in right as your heading for the spot chips in hand. Now what i do is kind of make a wall and give people the evil eye, like dont even try it thats my spot im just waiting here a minute before i jump in. Its been going good so far but there are a few stubborn cotton tops who sneek under my armpit and push they're way in.

Problem is that with 8 decks you could be waiting for a while. That's why I prefer playing at a $5 table. I just bet $5, and lose very little for my peace of mind and comfort and then when the count is good, I can bet as much as I feel like betting.

when i went there (before i knew anything about bj) i just sat down and watched like 90% of the time to get a feel for the game. it wasnt that crowded though... i probably only played 5 or 10 hands (and lost all of them) and nobody gave me a problem. i was talkin to some lady who was teaching me some basics

so if i go and its not crowded do u think i'll get away with just sitting there again and this time wait for the count to get good? cus id rather do that thAn stand behind and count then have somebody take my seat lol

I have seen some older people get away with it just sitting in and out as they feel like it. I think like with everything if you have the balls and confidence to make it look like your not doing anything you could pull it off. your just being a regular shmo losing money who is supersticious about when to play and when not to.

Well considering I just came back from AC this afternoon after a morning trip down, I think I can disagree with everything in your post.

1) Your statement: Only 8 Deckers...Incorrect
While there are 8 deckers for the most part, there are 6D available.

2) Your statement: Hi mins...Incorrect, however it is a personally assumption. The $5 tables I played today must be a little high for your bankroll  but I would assume not for the majority of us.

3)Your statement: H17...Incorrect
Just like the 8D you have to look for S17 tables and you will find them

Any other brain busters??

Yes backcounting can be a b*tch, but it does pay off when you see that high count and hop in. Not to mention you will be registered as a high bettor.
