Well considering I just came back from AC this afternoon after a morning trip down, I think I can disagree with everything in your post.

1) Your statement: Only 8 Deckers...Incorrect
While there are 8 deckers for the most part, bad there are 6D available.

2) Your statement: Hi mins...Incorrect, however it is a personally assumption. The $5 tables I played today must be a little high for your bankroll  but I would assume not for the majority of us.

3)Your statement: H17...Incorrect
Just like the 8D you have to look for S17 tables and you will find them

Any other brain busters??
You got it buddy AC isnt that bad at all you just gotta look a little harder and wong a little here and there. I will deal with that for the piece of mind knowing that they cant do a thing to me except maybe shuffle or give me some bad pen. But thats why theres more then one table and more then one casino. I have made good money in AC and cant bet that I will keep extracting money from there for some time to come. Especially the tropicana, i love to take their money.

I have seen some older people get away with it just sitting in and out as they feel like it. I think like with everything if you have the balls and confidence to make it look like your not doing anything you could pull it off. your just being a regular shmo losing money who is supersticious about when to play and when not to.
that sounds like it could work imo if it isnt crowded. im just looking to do a practice session, preferably a cheap one, so im flat betting the minimum when i have an edge which means i will be watching and not playing most of the time.

but i would just feel like its too obvious to stand and count as opposed to sitting at the table. i mean, r there actually "casual" players that just stand there glaring at the table for 20+ minutes (when there is more than 1 open seat) before sitting down to play only a few hands?

on the other hand i wouldnt take up a seat and do this if it were crowded. i guess if it were crowded then it would be ok to watch while standing in the back.

Just remember in AC they cant kick you out so you are golden. Take your time wait till a TC +2 and hop in. Your not gonna be really playing for high stakes so the most they might do if you play the hell out of the place is stare at you or have the dealer cut more off the deck. There are tons of reasons why people sit back at watch before they play. Just act casual and dont worry about it make you moves fluid, like its how you always play moving around table to table. Maybe you dont like to lose more then 4 hands, maybe you hate to wait for the shuffle, whatever your reason. Wonging is time consuming but well worth it and can look quite normal if done correct. Next time im going to AC i will let you know maybe we can do a little backcounting and a few other things send me a PM if your interested.

Amen! AC has a lot to offer, but the tough thing is that the good games are often a moving target. Luckily, the good BJ & craps spot happened to be the same joint for me this week!

good luck

Iv noticed that many times the size of your chip stack deturs peopel from entering the game, often they ask, "do you want me to wait till the shoe is over" I often backcount untill i get in then at the end of the shoe, strategicaly place 4k in chips in front of two spaces while i "take a break" for the first part of the next shoe ensuring my seat for the next shoe.

Sometimes when i backcount i just flat out sit in the chair and throw my stuff on an adjacent chair to detur people from entering, it may not work all the time but im certain that it has resulted in less peopel entering the game than there woudl be if nobody was sitting there whic in the long term means less frustration for me

I do plenty as well to try and prevent people from playing at the same table as me. I hate when others sit at the table because heads up is so fast. Actually, I don't mind one other person at the table, as long as they play only one hand. It gives me time to do estimations and TC calcs for those 8 deckers.

Caesars went to H17 on all 8 deck games, except for the pit directly adjacent to the High Limit Room. That includes the No Smoking Section and the second floor gams as well.
