Many of you have never heard of Ron Paul but don't worry ... you will. Ron Paul is a 2008 Republican candidate running to become president. Some pollsters do not even include him in their polls. And those that do, show him non-existent to 3% maximum. The first caucuses and primaries are 7 months away, so how can Paul go from unknown to presidential candidate?
The first thing to realize is that Ron Paul is not an unknown. Unknown candidates usually have trouble winning election because of the lack of familiarity that voters have with them. If the voter does not know a candidate, how can they vote on you. But things have changed with the Internet. He is one of the most famous politicians on the Internet right now.
Once the election season gets closer and more people start flocking to the Internet for information, voters will start to learn about Ron Paul. This will provide a natural boost for Paul that other candidates will not have. In fact, if you avoided watching the mainstream media and the polls, you would feel that Ron Paul was by far the front runner.

My guess is that people that spend all their time on the Internet will vote for Paul - in Internet polls & blogs. But he won't get any votes in the actual elections.

The point is not that he will probably win. The point of the original post is that, per NFL Systems, you will have THE EDGE if you bet him to win the primary NOW. Its a smart-money longshot bet that has true odds lower than the pay odds (ie, posi-EV). If you find a book, likely online/offshore, let us know. zg

Ron Paul Odds Slashed From 15 to 1 to 8 to 1!

Following this weekend's Republican debate in Iowa 2008 US Presidential candidate Ron Paul's odds to become the next Commander-in-Chief have been slashed further from 15 to 1 to 8 to 1.

The Presidential betting odds for most candidates have barely moved in recent weeks at (Dead link: http://www.gambling911.com/phpAdsNew/adclick.php?bannerid=199&zoneid=53&source=&dest=http://ff.connextra.com/sportingbetUSA/selector/click?client=sportingbetUSA&placement=Gambling911_Sportsbook_siteusage_txtlink) _ Sportsbook.com_ and Ron Paul's odds have remained steadfast at 15 to 1 for the past two months after heavy action forced the online bookmaker to slash his odds from 100 to 1. Ron Paul Selected as the
Underdog of the Election

NFLSystms.com: "Ron Paul is the one that has the highest value."
Here's a smart-money bet -

"Now is the time for Ron Paul supporters to start banging sites like World Sports Exchange, which still have Paul with +2400 odds for a payout potential of $2400 on every $100 bet when he wins," O'Brien recommends. World Sports Exchange betting odds on Dr. Paul can be found (Dead link: http://www.wsex.com/) _here_. "They (WSEX) even have Huckabee ahead of Paul. Ron Paul supporters should be would be outraged and let them have it, even with a $5 bet!"

Ron Paul Odds Have Been Slashed to 6 to 1: Now Favored Over Romney

Public pushes Ron Paul odds down even further this week

Forget those political polls. Throughout time (at least the last decade), oddsmakers have had an uncanny knack for predicting political races. It's not so much that they have a crystal ball, rather the lines adjust based on public action. When it comes to political betting, the public action is presumed to represent votes. The theory being that someone who is likely to vote on Mitt Romney probably won't bet on Ron Paul winning.

The gambling public seems to believe that 2008 Presidential candidate Ron Paul stands a very good chance of winning, so much so that this past week odds on Dr. Paul have been slashed further from 8 to 1 down to 6 to 1, with the potential payout of $600 for every $100 bet. (see betting odds at (Dead link: http://www.gambling911.com/phpAdsNew/adclick.php?bannerid=199&zoneid=53&source=&dest=http://ff.connextra.com/sportingbetUSA/selector/click?client=sportingbetUSA&placement=Gambling911_Sportsbook_siteusage_txtlink) _Sportsbook.com_).

Want to know the truth? Even Ron Paul is full of ****. A Libertarian policy will always give birth to a robber baron government/corporate collusion.

Where Ron Paul is helpful is as a training element for the stupid die hard republicans. Certainly many are incurably diseased but some on the borderline can be helped. This is where and only where Paul gets his real usefulness.

I compare Ron Paul to a strong sewer cleaning element. Like Drano or other waste line degreasers. Good for unclogging the scum from the line but you don't want them anywhere near the dinner table.

Ron Paul is a nice guy. Unfortunately these types are "bad parents" for future generations of Conservatives.

Eisenhower begot Nixon

Goldwater begot Reagan.

Bush I begot Bush II

Bush I was still pretty bad himself but his son is beyond wretched. As you know.

Official: Ron Paul Will Make Over
$6 Mil in Single Day December 16

The oddsmakers have spoken and so have the gamblers and 2008 US Presidential hopeful Ron Paul supporters: The Texas Republican Congressman is destined to take in more than $6 mil during an upcoming "money bomb" scheduled for December 16.

The folks at online gambling website (Dead link: http://www.gambling911.com/phpAdsNew/adclick.php?bannerid=199&zoneid=53&source=&dest=http://ff.connextra.com/sportingbetUSA/selector/click?client=sportingbetUSA&placement=Gambling911_Sportsbook_siteusage_txtlink) _Sportsbook.com_ have now made Ron Paul's chances of raising more than $6 mil a 5/9 favorite. In other words you would have to bet $9 to win $5 (and get your initial $5 back if the amount comes in over $6 mil).

Bookmakers Hit Mark With
Ron Paul Money Bomb Bet

Carrie Stroup here with the latest report on the Ron Paul one day money bomb.
Heading into the final hours of the biggest single fundraising day for a Presidential candidate, Congressman Ron Paul appeared to be well on his way to making just over $6 million. The bookmakers at (Dead link: http://www.gambling911.com/phpAdsNew/adclick.php?bannerid=199&zoneid=53&source=&dest=http://ff.connextra.com/sportingbetUSA/selector/click?client=sportingbetUSA&placement=Gambling911_Sportsbook_siteusage_txtlink) _Sportsbook.com_ had been offering an OVER/UNDER total bet on the amount of money taken in during the December 16 fundraiser. Gambling911.com initially helped Sportsbook.com set the line at $5 million, but heavy action prompted the popular online gambling website to move the line up to $6 million.

TAC has endorsed the ONLY 4real candidate. zg

February 11, 2008 Issue

Paul for President

The presidential fields of both parties have narrowed, and the arguments about how we should move forward are now familiar. TAC believes that only one candidate has put forth a diagnosis of America’s current ills and has a vision to turn the country off its misguided course. That is Congressman Ron Paul, whom we endorse for the Republican nomination.

On the key issue of foreign policy, the differences between the other Republican contenders can be measured in microdots. All remain enthusiastic supporters of the invasion of Iraq and of maintaining a presence there for years to come. All speak as if it is America’s right and duty to station its armed forces over much of the world. All have embraced neoconservative paranoia about the “threat” posed by Iran, setting the table for another war. All, that is, except Dr. Paul.

He is the one candidate who sees how the realities of world power have shifted since the 1990s, the one who recognizes that the time of unilateral American hegemony is over—and can’t be maintained even if it was in our interest to do so. He alone understands that the ever expanding federal government is a far greater threat to American liberty than some tinpot dictator in the Caucasus. By speaking about the benefits of smaller government and limited executive power, he has introduced a generation of young Americans to a more traditional and true style of conservatism—to the movement and the country’s benefit.

Ron Paul is a libertarian, and his stances are very much derived from that minor party tradition. To many, his ruminations about sound money seem academic—if oddly prescient. He was sounding the alarm about dollar devaluation long before the current panic and broke with libertarian orthodoxy to oppose injurious free-trade deals like NAFTA and CAFTA. Conservatives also find common cause with his 30-year pro-life voting record and commitment to ending birthright citizenship.

Paul came by his congressional nickname—“Dr. No”—honestly. Anyone combing through his lengthy record will find many lone stands and idealistic statements that ignore the maxim that politics is the art of the possible. We are under no illusion that he has much chance of winning the GOP nomination this election cycle.

Nevertheless we urge a vote for him. This campaign sends a signal to both parties that a significant number of Americans value their country’s great Constitution, that many conservatives reject wiretaps, waterboarding, and senseless wars. There is far more realism in Paul’s analysis than can be found in those Republicans who believe that Washington’s policy of borrowing billions from China to pay for the occupation of a growing number of countries is desirable, much less sustainable.

Ron Paul has been a breath of fresh air in an otherwise desultory Republican campaign. Long may he run.
