Thanks for the encouragement guys!
It was actually my girlfriend who rekindled my excitement for blackjack. She started asking about counting and my experience with it. She was really interested so I ended up giving her an overview of everything. After only 20 minutes of practicing counting...
I learned to count last year and spent around 40 hours in my local casinos and Vegas. I played with a small bank roll (EV was only $5 an hour) but was able to make $700. After expenses I was at $100... Not too exciting. Haha But my goal at the time was just to gain experience so I could make a...
The other night the dealer at my table suggested a player surreneder his 16v10. Maybe it's just the places I play but I've never seen a dealer who actually knew anything about surrender. Most I've met say it's "always a bad move." I almost congradulated him for not being an idiot. But decided it...

Haha sounds like a horror movie.
Last night was the worst. Dealer had ace up 5 times in one shoe with a count above 3. I got insurance all 5 and lost them all, while the ploppie kept telling me it a suckers bet. Uuuugh! I felt like an idiot. But I guess being the "idiot" at the table is a...
Last night I was playing next to one of those annoying ploppies who think they know how to play blackjack better than everyone else at the table. He would sigh when someone made a "bad" play and say "are you kidding?" when someone bought insurance.
After a while I almost lost it. I wanted to...
