    probability question

basically its a binomial distribution where: probability of event=.33 number of trials=16 number of successes=12 but instead of only 16, we want to 1500 trials and see if 12/16 ever occurs in those 1500. this is where i am hung up and can't find the formula i am looking for, tried...

    HC'ing Practice

it is understood that it is a poker players responsibility to protect his hand, so if a poker player is flashing his own cards that is his fault and you can use that information. if the dealer is flashing players' cards in a poker game, then it is wrong to use that information, since you are...

    Why?!

sorta funny the count gets high and u wanna push $500 out there on every hand because the math says that you have an advantage...too bad the math ALSO says that you will lose more hands than you win, even in a + count.

    Counting styles and Indices...

people who are spending countless hours trying to learn a system that they plan to use for the rest of their lives care... sadly it really doesn't make all that much of a difference, it sounds like the OP is worried about the complexity of a sidecount so my thoughts would be to stick to a...

What do you think about this guy??

not sure how counting players is easier than counting the 10s and As, if anything i think i would have more trouble with this than KO. so you have your count...maybe -3, then u have to remember that while u could up all the small cards at the table, so thats +9, ok now im at 6, and theres 5...

    Unusual behaviour at Crown Casino

well he probably new the somebody or whatever, so he could do whatever he wanted, hence the card and being able to openly count the shoe with no care about who saw or new. also maybe his count was right, you can start counting a shoe at any point, and just treat cards dealt before you got there...

Vodoo ploppies are right, we can shove our math and sims :)

and after you take envelop B, the EV for switching back to envelope A is either +50 or -100, and you know which it is because you have seen the money in both envelopes...sorry not much of a paradox from what i can see. gonna read the wikipedia article and see if theres anything tougher there.

Vodoo ploppies are right, we can shove our math and sims :)

ok to the first part here it goes, it took me 30 seconds to figure this out...u have an envelope with $100, and another envelope has either $50 or $200 in it. of course you should switch envelopes because you are risking $50 for a chance at $100, and its a 50/50 proposition. lets flip a...

Higher R.O.R. = Better Odds of Winning

the way i see it, if all else is equal, the larger your spread/average bet, the higher your risk of ruin will be. the higher your average bet, the more money you will make per hour. but if u go broke that lowers the number of hours you spend in the casino. if you drive 10 minutes to a local...

    Manipulating the dealer??

nah bro. its stealing and you should be ashamed of yourself, just because you can get away with something doesn't mean you should do it. This thread should be deleted as it gives legitimate players a bad name by being associated with you, even if only by posting on the same forum. If i lose all...

First experience with a bad ploppy

I play with my dad a bit, and he can match those plays and then some. i think his favorite play is doubling a 12v10. seen him double a hard 17...could spread 100-1 sitting next to him and never risk a backoff, could straight up tell the pitboss ya im counting and if you kick me out he leaves too...
