BTW, I think D9 is a stupid rule, even from casinos' point of view. Sure, theoretically, it makes them a little more money. But I've seen more than enough tablemates double on hard 12s and even 13s who are now idiot-proofed from making those moves. Wouldn't be surprised if it actually cost...

I can see the argument for A82 = 11 or 21 in a D9 game. But A9A = 21, period. Even if the casino says A9 = 10, it's your option that the second A = 11.

If the dealer is showing a 10 and you know the hole card is not 10 (but don't know the exact value), does anyone know what's the BS in this situation? Intuitively it seems pretty obvious to me that you would double on 10. Double on 9? Double on A7 or A6? Split 9s and 7s? Stand on 12-16? It...

I'm looking to invest in a BJ program. Need something to: 1. Generate indices for various counting systems and games 2. Calculate SCORE or some kind of profitability measure to compare games and strategies (decks, rules, pen, bet spread, etc.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Jimmtech my friend, I recommend that you set an immediate goal of no gambling of any kind for a good period of time. How long? I don't know, but 6 months would be a good start. Once you do, DO NOT GIVE AN INCH. No "quick" trip to a casino and just play "a little". No "10-minute" session...

I've never played Match the Dealer. Just wondering, if the dealer has a K and you have a Q do you get paid? If so this might explain why you have an edge at high TC+ but not high TC-.

Is it more the PCs or "eyes" job to look for card counters? In my experience, the majority of the times I've gotten heat or backed off was from doing something careless/stupid when the PC was watching.
