Yeah that's KO Rookie. Minimum bet until you reach the "key count" and then max bet. It was recommended to recreational players.
With a key count of 22, I'm guessing your using the customized IRC (initial running count) to avoid negative numbers. I do that too.
I'm just learning and...
That I could probably do. But wonging in and playing only with an advantage is not going to be feasible.
Maybe carrying a packet of cigs around would be a good act.
This is slightly off-topic but...
In the event that someone doesn't have the option to "table-hop" and must "play-all" then would learning TKO remove some of the risk involved with doing so?
Yeah the KO book recommends a 1-16 spread for a 6 deck game.
Ideally I'd like to spread to 1-20.
Also, I'm not sure no insurance effects the EV. My local casino offers "even money" on a Blackjack vs a Dealers Ace, but no insurance bet.
I've read about all of you developing acts and using these such as cover plays. However, I'm playing in the UK, the casino business is not as far along over here. The pit bosses aren't as aware of card counting.
If you played in a UK casino you would know what I mean, lol.
If I'm playing one hand for the majority of a shoe, and suddenly the count is high enough for me to push out a higher bet...and let's say I push out the same bet to now play two hands instead of one, is this going to increase my RoR?
I'm not sure how this would work. It's like doubling the...
Thanks for looking into this UK.
I'm using KO, an unbalanced system in which you bet according to the running count.
I've just had a quick scan through the book (I read it carefully about a year ago) and according to that; my EV for the game I'm playing is 0.63%. This can drop to 0.44% if...
I know where you're coming from.
When I was first old enough to gamble I developed a bit of a habit of going on the roulette machine in Coral. It was the thrill of ocasionally winning easy money that got me, but if I was to keep going and trying to win back my losses all the time then no doubt...
I've spent a couple of weeks practicing counting and basic strategy. I know of other things that can affect the results you get - such as penetration and rule-sets.
This was not really what I wanted advice on though, all of this can be found in books or on websites. The main dilemna I have is...
Are you one of those keyboard ninjas who is well-informed on a certain topic but enjoys catching out noobs like me who are ignorant on the finer details?
If not, then why do you seem to be saying things that suggest you are?
All I ever noticed is that the dealer took the cards that the play cut from the deck and moved them to the top...and then put the cut card somewhere else themselves.
I was looking for insight from people on this forum who have experience with counting cards.
Perhaps then I could judge better if the prospect of card counting, for me, is trash or treasure.
Lol. How did you know?
I sometimes think of earning National Minimum Wage at a Blackjack table...
I like the casino environment. I like talking to random people about the place. For that reason I don't mind staying in a casino for hours at a time, so between games (I wouldn't like to count non-stop, game-after-game for hours and hours) I could keep myself occupied.
I've got a casino less...
I got reeled in by this advantage play concept by the film - 21. Obviously, I wasn't as stupid as to think that it really happens like that in real life, but I was extremely interested all the same.
I read "Play Blackjack Like the Pros" by Kevin Blackwood (enjoyable read) and I also read "KO...
