1-5 spread

#1
Hi,

In order to avoid heat, I'm thinking the following betting strategy,

Using Hi-Low
TC +1 above, 50 dollars
TC +1 under, 10 dollars
in other words, only two bets, either 10 or 50. As it's a small casino, it's kind of strange to leave the table when the count goes negative so I have to play it all the way.

The rules are 6D, DAS, DOA, about 80% pen., RSA (up to 4 hands), Late Surrender, S17

I'd appreciate if anyone could help me to check the plan, to see if it's profitable or I need to make my spread larger. Thanks.

That is a good game, but it may look a little weird ONLY betting $10 or $50.

The game is pretty good and before the casino is was full of CCs. However, as far as I know, they had kicked out about 30 CCs in last 2 months. I personally witnessed once when they asked 5 CCs to leave the table. I don't want to draw any heat that's why I need to keep my spread as small as possible while making some money.

I wonder why you choose 5 to 1 spread. Did you see the casino asking people spreading 6 to 1 to leave?

No reason. I just don't think there would be any heat at all to spread 5 to 1. 10 to 1 is safe, I guess, but I don't want to take any risk. I know some one who spread 15 to 1 was asked to leave.

if i was going to have a binomial bet ramp,
id bet 10 under +2
and 80 at anything +2 or over

that way, you achieve what you would normally bet in a normal bet ramp, and only bet your high bet in absolutely positive ev situations.

Ditto

I was about to post on your variance. I dont feel my understanding of variance is nearly as strong as I need it to be but that approach screamed variance problems. If your bankroll is an issue you definitely want to keep variance to a minimum.

Its probably a good idea to minimize variance anyway, unless you are playing more for entertainment and the large swings give you the thrill you are looking for.

Thunder is correct. Your bet ramp is weak.

I suggest the following, if using Hi-Lo.

Bet 2 units off the top and with all counts from −1 to +1

Drop to 1 unit if below −1

Bet 4 units from +2 to +4

Bet 8 units from + 3 to +5

THIS is the kind of simple ramp you are looking for.

An 8-1 spread is anemic but this much better than what you have proposed.
