1 and 2 deck rules variations

#1
Hello AP BJ world!

I have had the pleasure of being a lurker off and on here for some time. I have learned a lot by sitting back and shutting up and I want to thank you all for being so free with your conversation and information. I have a long way to go, especially with the lingo (EC, ploppy, HE, etc.). I have inferred the meaning of a lot of terms but a glossary of some sort would be helpful. Is there anything like that around here?

Back to the topic.

I was reading in another thread about a single deck game, no DAS (double after split?), and double 10 and 11 only. Along with that was discussion of a 2 deck DAS, double any first two cards.

What is the HA (house advantage?) for these games? How would you modify basic strategy to play these games?

Now that I'm posting, you can expect some basic ?s to start popping up from time to time. I have a load of them. :grin:

May your aces be paired with tens!

Welcome aboard. You may want to start here http://qfit.com/blackjack-odds-calculator.htm to calculate the HE.

As far as how to modify your play given specific rules, bs comes in both the S17 and H17 variety and good bs charts also give you additional options if doubling/splitting/surrender is not allowed http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/strategy/calculator.html

I doubt if a glossary exists here but here your definitions:

EC = ***El Cortez***, an infamous casino in downtown LV
ploppy = your run of the mill blackjack player and pain in the ass (sometimes) for AP's (advantage player). Ploppies can actually be of some help and guaranteed entertainment.
HE = house edge
