a question for Mr Kool Jay

in my opinion your above all the big names in blackjack from Wong to Synder and even Don himself, for every 1 John Krover we hear about theres 100 or 1000 we don't hear about, with that said you went in the machine with 1/2 Johns BR and never looked back and you did it under harder conditions in the 2000 era with AC rules. yes indeed you are above the big names in BJ so trying to figure out if we gave John 10 x 4 grand he would have a 95% chance of doubling his bankroll ?
i really can't decide if its skill, luck, or your a factional character to entice people like John or Billy to come hit up the tables with extra cash off hand

my question is what do you believe contribute to your luck of never looking back? you admit having losing 50% and i believe 90% of your bankroll over time but have you lost 100% and had to reboot?? and if so what year was it? how much did you make before losing 1 bank roll of a 100 max bets (min bet being 1 and max bet being 10 for example 10$-100$)

i lost 70 max bets on casino verite but won it all back and continue to win from there after however masque blackjack i lost 78 or 88 max bets which was 17k$ of fake money after losing 88 max bets i gave up the idea of card counting id imgine if im remotely successful they will ask me to leave or shuffle up 1/3 in the shoe in either way they will pull the plug, damn John i hope you have alot of cash my count was kiss 3 and bet spread 15-150 under sands pa conditions

There is severe survivorship bias in this industry for sure. Those who bust out usually stop playing and participating in the forums, while those who get lucky continue playing, posting, and participating. So you have mostly winners around here. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I'm probably going to be dropping out of the forums pretty soon, and with BJ. I can't keep losing like this. I literally can't keep losing like this. I almost have no more money left, and I'm not a big earner either. That was basically my life savings. But at least I'm on the record as a loser so it's a little less bias.

Steve-whatever. Your first line is preposterous. For anyone that didn't already know, it makes it crystal clear you are trolling. My apologies to Don and others mentioned.

Not that it matters but I never admitted to losing 50% of my bankroll at any time, let alone 90%. I never had to resize downward. Came very close one of my first years in Vegas. I started the year going 32k in the red over the first 3+ months. That was about 1/3 of my BR at the time. I was considering resizing downward. I have never been a fan of the idea of resizing downward and trying to win losses back at a reduced spread and max bet. So I talked my self into holding off until I was down 40k, which would be 40%. That never occurred.

Actually the opposite happened, which I recently talked about here. I went on a 5 week 115k winning tear. That is just the kind of think that further makes me not like the idea of re-sizing because if I had done so, at least a portion of that winning tear would have occurred at lower stakes/max bet, meaning reduced winnings.

Since you didn't resize, were you over-betting? If so, that's dangerous.

Im a troll?!?!??? This man over here is losing his life savings cause of people like you and ben and colin and yoshi are wiinning players and they trick/trap people like John?? And im a troll!!?

This is retarded to the 9th power..

one thing i hate when reading people like Joel, Jimmtech, Billy or the future/next John Crover is that the fact remains, when he goes belly up and donates his life savings the casinos dont care, nor is it a big game changer its a drop in the bucket to the 9 owners to the casino off in a island you never heard off or some pent house in nyc with all the play bunnies but if John can double his starting roll that could change his life to the better as well but im sure he wants to milk it year in and year out. thats why i asked that question for card counters and all i got was Rebecca "sometimes" response followed by Kool jay im a troll and i harrass him or whatever never truly getting into deep in depth detail on how its done and how to avoid being spotted as a counter in atlantic city for 5-10 years as Kool jay did it this site seems like a croc when i read posts from John Crover

Have you tried Live poker John? i mean you can't do any worst from losing 9k in 70 hours from almost a 50/50 game in Live poker

I'm going to be seeing it out until the bitter end. I will be playing some higher quality games soon. 7% RoR, nice hourly. No more resizing. I can't work for less. Going to be getting my game evaluated before I play so I know everything's on the square. I will have to run something like 1.3 standard deviations below the mean to break even on the trip. If that happens I'm going to give up. If I lose or break even after 200 hours or if I get backed off I'm throwing in the towel. I can't afford to lose/waste any more time. The theory is great and everything but if I don't start bringing in some bread soon I'm going to be homeless.

Masque Blackjack's engine is not random. If you play Author's way and not rushing your playing decision, you will always win. If you don't play using Author's recommendation, even you use a superior counting system, you will lose. The real world doesn't work that way.

the shoe shuffle is random and the cards stay put in that shoe regardless how you play BJgenius007, reason i know? Virtual box, i save the game 2 decks in and i play the hand twice with two different decisions, guess what? the results the same the same cards the same loss/win/push every time did this on several different shoes and its a real life shoe just on a digital format instead of a real shoe so the shoe order to the card formation is the same from start to finish, if i didn't have virtual box and couldn't rewind it like a vhs tape id maybe believe you

Is your Masque BJ the final version? The older versions are random. But the latest version is not. To punish who don't follow author's recommendation or rush to the decision. You can see the card changed from a random card to a bust card when the dealer flied a card to you.

it was this version i bought off ebay https://wowroms.com/en/roms/windows-3.x/masque-blackjack/153374.html
i can only run via virtual box, windows 10 can not run it as is
only 1 hand able to play i discovered a feature where i can save state and clone the virtual box and play the hand again this time id hit and the order of the cards still came out the same id say ace of hearts, 9 of diamonds and jack of spades as dealers up card all 3 cards came out the same and i recorded the end card twice and it was the same ending card that finished the round, thats how i know its not doing anything under handed

Yours is old version. The latest version for windows 7/10 is for up to six players and has special effects when dealer deals cards to the players, the cards are flying.

yes and my version i bought to mimic real life shuffles ate 88 max bets (15$minbet and 150$ max bet) kiss 3 count no screw ups and i gave up after losing around 17 grand, i imagine this is whats John going through right now but real life shuffles but he only has 9 grand to kick off with, im 99.9% sure my count with kiss 3 was dead on and i think i even tried again with knockout and i lost 5 grand and gave up again

this game is hard to beat i wonder why the casino is ever so happy to offer it

I really wasn't. By the time I moved to Vegas, I had a decent size BR. And this was at least a couple years into the Vegas part of my career. I was playing a fraction of Kelly at that point, so I was pretty safe. So safe I didn't even really need to consider re-sizing. BUT I hadn't gone through all the swings at that time and just have the experience to know I was completely safe. Even though I had a decent BR at the time, that was all I had. That was pretty much my entire wealth. So you lose a third and you start to feel a little uncomfortable, until you gain the experience you need.

The part that I was really "lucky" and I will admit that I was extremely fortunate, was my first 3 years. Any sort of significant bad run (negative variance) would have done me in at all most any point during my first 3 years. That is when I was overbetting my way-too-small bankroll. That really bad run never occurred. When I started knowing I was way underfunded, I was sort of expecting to bust out. I would have needed to find another job and rebuild and try again. But like I said it never occurred and I just really struggled barely making enough money to support myself on the tightest of shoe-string budgets.

While I know that was the really lucky part, I almost think had I busted out in the first year, and rebuild a decent bankroll (bigger than I played those first 3 years), I might have progressed faster. But it probably wouldn't have mattered. Either way I was going to burn out Atlantic City with my grinding style of play. Just not enough casinos and good games to have a decent rotation that would preserve any kind of longevity. Either way, I think I would have ended up right where I am, living in the "Neon Paradise", that I love so much. :) I really think this was my destiny.

yea hear that John? that coulda been you sorry Kool jay your a fantasy, Arnold Synders, Wongs and Dons are just general writting books of war you sir went into the combat field and actually played a living and we have casualities like John who get killed on first 50s hours in the field

I had the one with the WSOP program on it. I won that 216 player tournament hundreds of times. These games are easily manipulated.
