I once knew someone who cheated on a test in high school.
Anyone have similar stories to share?
I was in a business class at a pretigious university. The class was called Organizational Behavior. We were supposed to work in groups and report our observations of the other members of our group as they wrote up some special analysis or paper (can't remember exactly what it was). I was 35 and the rest were 21 and 22 years old. It started off with some of the members discussing how they would use fraternity files to find previously written papers. A couple of them decided that's what they would do instead of preparing original work. Since the class required the reporting of what the other members were doing, I reported their plan to cheat. What else could I do, cheat myself? Make up something that didn't happen? Screw these jerks for dragging me into their spoiled, lazy behavior. I reported it just like I saw it. After submitting my paper I was questioned by the professor. That's the last I ever heard of it. I doubt if anything happened to anyone. Most the kids had very rich parents. Maybe, in retrospect, I would not rat them out if it happened now, I'm not sure--but at the time, that's the way I saw it. What would you do?

I'm just gonna ask you. Do you think there's no cheating, anywhere in the world at blackjack? Anywhere in the US?

A number of players cheat. Marked cards, nicks, bends, smudges, etc. shiners, collusion with dealers, capping chips, etc. I'm sure that some house cheat, especially very small casinos. I know firsthand of someone who set up a blackjack game in a country club with a gaffed shoe, where he could not only know the next card, but also deal seconds.

I have read an ad for a shuffle machine that through a computer knows the position of every card and can announce that card to the dealer through an ear piece. If they sell them, somebody must be buying them! Also, if a shuffle machine can know the position of every card, it is not a great leap of the imagination to suspect that a gaffed shuffle machine could "run up" the cards to favor the house.

As a rule of thumb, play at large, respectable casinos.

Answer me this;
Do you believe the level of cheating at casinos in the US justifies having five seperate threads on it?

That's a different question. I personally think that anyone who plays blackjack seriously should have an understanding of how cheating commonly happens, and should have a healthy sense of paranoia.

And, yes, I think the subject is important enough to talk about, at length. Personally, the state I live in doesn't have casinos, and we have a lot of shady "charity" games, so I have spent the time to equip myself to make sure I probably won't be cheated.
