Any more JUNKETS to Vegas?

#1
About 20 years ago you could purchase for $80 a junket to Vegas from Southern California and be reimbursed for that $80 after 4 hours of $10 play at any one of 4 casinos.

Does anything like this still exist?

I know that they were running buses to Laughlin (saw flyers in local MexRestaurant in Ramona) as of last Spring. About that deal pricing.

Fuel $ went up and they quit doing them. Bet if they started again, they'd get some business.

I wonder if some tour bus operators work something like that.
A lot of the Asian ones will do similar things. Unfortunately, you generally need to be ethnically Asian and speak the bus operator's language fluently in order to get the best deal. (Neither criteria by itself is sufficient in my experience)

The advent of the Indian casinos in California has moved the bus tour business away from Vegas to the casinos in places an hour or two from LA.
Riverside and San Diego county casinos seem to all have bus links that are dominated by Asian customers. Many of these buses leave from Koreatown in LA or little Saigon in Orange County. I think whatever the cost of the ride is is refunded to the customer in the form of promotional chips or slot free play.
It also appears that many of these buses have problems getting all their riders to leave as I have often heard people being paiged in casinos and being told that their bus will leave in 5 minutes.

Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately I need to get to Vegas or Laughlin for some good games and buses are PROBABLY too slow.

Please keep the info coming.

Thanks again, Bruisedlee

Interesting. At least from what I've seen, most of the ads for buses that leave from San Francisco or Oakland Chinatowns are for Reno or Tahoe or Vegas. Maybe the tribal casino buses are so popular they don't need advertising.

Alternatively, I've heard that the tribal casinos in Southern California are much bigger and better than the ones in Northern California. Maybe that's the difference, you can get a Vegas-esque experience at tribal casinos in LA/SD but Cache Creek and Thunder Valley aren't all that great.

Harrah's runs charter flights to both Laughlin (often free on my mail) and Reno/Tahoe (usually not). Allegiant operates the charters.

Before I make a million phone calls to casino hosts:

Can anyone reccomend a Vegas Casino that will:

Have a beatable game, preferably Single or Double deck

AND

Reimburse me for a $120 airfare with 4 to 6 hours of $10 minimum play???

Thanks, Bruisedlee

Good luck, I don't think it will happen, but what do I know... At that level of play you MIGHT get your room comped, but I doubt it with only 6 hours of play, but who knows, stranger things have happened. If you find this one, I guess we'll see you there, lol.
