anyone here want to sort of mentor a newb like me. someone who knows a great deal that i could pm whenever i have any silly questions or whatever, any takers?

Don't PM your questions. Post them. Instead of getting one response you'll get several. There are always different ways of approaching this game, so you'll want as many different perspectives as you can get.

What are we, jedi? Learn the hi-lo count, practice practice practice.

There is nothing more we can do aside from answering questions about ploppies, bankroll management, casino rules, etc. You have to be willing to do the work. Play the rocky theme while you're learning to count. The training and be just as taxing (on your brain)

And read the past threads. Just about anything "neewbie" you can ask has been posted. Heck, we should have a sticky FAQ on the main page pointing to the relevant threads, the forum's that good.

We're here to help...we're not all haters, so ask away. Nobody knows everything, but we all know something. Don't get discouraged, but Preston is right about learning basic strategy like the back of your hand and learning a counting system.
