I find Sage to be quite easy to understand, but first you must hunker down, fuzz-ify your mind, and repeat over and over, "Anything is possible, anything is possible, anything is possible...." Why, the other day, I swear I saw a black swan swimming in my little backyard swimming pool. But when I ran downstairs, pulled back the shutters, and slid open the door...it was gone! In it's place was a little yellow finch, which I have seen on numerous occasions flitting about my yard. Now, I don't expect you to believe this, but I think that black swan is still back there somewhere, only I can't see it. Maybe, in 2012, it will all become clear. Anyway, when I visit a certain PA casino this weekend, I do hope that swan makes a showing---record winnings never before recorded from such meager beginnings at a lowly $10 table. Look for me on the eleven o'clock news!  :whip:

PS--I hope to get in a little machine work, as well. ;)

Another shot at it.

So I woke up this morning and getting ready to go work I peer out into the backyard and lo and behold another groundhog ten feet from the house. I grab the rifle again and tell the wife get ready for the shot. I start to open the patio door and woooosh a hawk tries for breakfast at the hog. The hog stays calm and collected but I don't think the young un knows he on the hawks menu. I retreat and watch the family of hawks swoop in one after another trying to pick him off.
I think I did a pretty good job the other day at the store fending heat off from the pit. They sure do get nervous when the big bets come out and count is high. Right by side talking away making jokes and me winning hand after hand and wondering how this piggy went to market and went weee, weee, weeee all the home with their money. Too bad I couldn't stay and take more from them nor did I stay to see if the whistle pig made it to the end of the day.

Would someone kindly explain what this thread of sophomoric humor has to do with blackjack?
or even blackjack-voodoo betting strategies?:)
uhmm ok, how about supportive advantage stuff perhaps in conjunction with more or less conventional blackjack betting strategies, maybe?
and maybe not so conventional blackjack betting strategies in conjunction with other advantage stuff, maybe? or vice-a-versa...
whatever, yeah perhaps this stuff i started is a bit off base for this particular section of the forums.
but anyway, i've been reading a book about advantage play stuff, a person in conjunction with the book mentioned how blackjack advantage stuff, the stuff we discuss in these forums contains the essence (my words) of other advantage play stuff. sort of where, if you can grasp the essence of blackjack advantage play, maybe you can have a heads up for other advantage play in the wild casinodom (ok in just regular ole casinos).
whatever, just the concept of advantage, and if you want the quantification of it along with the concept of value and maybe the quantification of that, well it goes a long way far as getting over in the wild casinodom, just maybe with a little common sense and thoughtfulness.
point being, a thorough understanding of the nature of advantage and value, along with maybe a bit of math, then maybe you can be in a league with perhaps what generals of armies do, what businessmen do, what lions in the wilds do, that sort of stuff. the stuff that makes for success in competition, sort of thing, competition such as we might face in casinos, maybe.
maybe win that bet, between you and the competition.
i dunno, just me maybe, seems worth while thinking along these lines, one hardly hears much on the qualitative aspect of advantage, mainly the quantitative equation or formulas, with just that seems easy to miss the nittly gritty of what it's all about, sorta thing, maybe not, i dunno, to me it is anyway.

edit: yes it's 3:45am, yes we just got back from battling windmill giants in the wild casinodom, yes i'm rambling and yeah i'm having fun.....
oh, yeah, and aslan, i had a cowbird that came and sat and pecked at our picture window for months on end, while we were stocking our birdfeeders......... does that count for a sort of a black swan? we didn't open the window cause we didn't wanna let the darn thing in. what ever, it was cool.....

How can anyone sleep with that dang windowpecker banging out his favorite tune? I prefer black swans. They just float around all sort of peaceful and quiet, and if you're not looking for them, they might go totally unnoticed. Course then, what would be the purpose?

yup, yer right about that.
saw this history channel show, the earth was postulated to slow it's spin by 200mph sorta thing, turned one day into the span of two, it was daylight by a factor of two time-wise, that would make it like jet lag for the earths populace, make it hard to sleep to the point where everyone essentially goes nuts from the lack of sleep.
heh heh, i think i got seven hours sleep last 'morning', anyway. woke up to Sadie, my pooch, barking in my ear, lol. she's smart enough to get right up and direct that bark right into the ear, lamo.
anyway, age is a cure for everything, lol.
Glad to hear the casinodome is doing well!!!!!!
man it was off the hook!!!!!!!11
if the three of us hustlers (plus 1Y, minus 1/2 causa splits) were competing lions well then there were water buffalo, antelope all over the Savannah .... a predators dream!
so much action we all could barely keep up with it.
funny thing is, was we made the most before the hordes of grazing herds hit the plains.
seems maybe ev & standard deviation will have it's way.
what ever Y and i are still protecting the turf, shrinking the bellies of the trespassers, lol.
A little R and D has been happening down here in HOT AS HELL Georgia. Me thinks winter might possibly be much more pleasant this year compared to that one horrible year....
that's what it's all about in the final analysis. so good to kick back and foughgetabout it......
but hunters wanna hunt, don't they? awe well hunker down in that summer heat and chill out man.
Getting home late from the hunt....3:45am sheeesh!!!! Teenagers what ya gonna do!!!!Machinist
lmao, wait till i tell Y that one, errhh if i can explain it, she might think i'm crazy as most people reading these posts....... but heck i'm jus a poor dumb schmuck. maybe someone will feel sorry for me.
speaking of Y, hey you know how the lion pride does most of the hunting while the male lion lays in a shady spot, protecting the pride? that's what i do best, man Y is a huntress. don't tell her i said that.
teenagers, lmao, you shoulda seen us limping home last morning.

after some sleep, no cowbirds pecking on the windows, just a dog barking directly in my ear, it came to me, instead of explaining to fredperson all this gibberish would maybe be ask him to explain in sophomoric terms, so i could understand, just how this FIbonacci sequence stuff works for blackjack voodoo betting stuff.:whip:

yeah man there ya go, it's the ploy of the play sorta thing.
them hawks and that hog knew what they was doin, so did you lol.
not sure about the pit critters, roflmao.
anyway, good to have a ploy of a play.
edit: problem with civilians is all play and no ploy, in the casinodom that makes for being a part of the ploy of the play for AP's and the casino.

We should know in a billion hands or so.
in bj theory stuff no doubt.
what? it's like EV is everything, money or a bird in the hand is worthless, even if a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.:):whip:

anyway i doubt if many good black swans are gonna be nailed inside of casino walls, but maybe something close, say a mini black swan.
how about a car, motor home, a huge pile of money, what ever?

but ok, yeah theory is what it is, numbers don't lie, knowledge is knowledge, right is right.
common sense is often derided by maths nerds, respect for discipline, patience, intuition, creativity, ect., ect. becomes a sign one is off their rocker and about to lose their bankroll, yada, yada yada.

i call bullsh!t.
i say show me the money! i say golden opportunities can be missed if we just sit twiddling our thumbs bemoaning the lack of a perfect theory. but that doesn't mean throwing the baby out with the bathwater, lol. just, this i know, no two AP's approach stuff the same way, always.
but yeah, theory yes, math yes............. other stuff too? yes!:cat:

What's left for other stuff? Voodoo? I don't think so. Undiscovered science? Yes, maybe, but without theory or math, undiscovered stuff is useless. Prayer, yes, maybe. haha But you better watch out what you pray for. You may get it...or maybe a response you hadn't counted on (no pun intended).

theory and math, can we call that a form of knowledge and that a form of potential utility?
not to reinvent the wheel, sorta thing but new stuff does happen in the casinodom, things are always changing. and maybe the more things tend to change the more things tend to stay the same, lol. but, therein maybe new opportunities, if we are able to recognize them, maybe, heaven forbid, use the ole noggin, sorta thing.
other stuff yeah, or variations on old stuff maybe applied with a new purpose or a new expectation. key would be using the ole noggin, is that voodoo?

Naw, not voodoo, you're right about that. I think I know what you're trying to tell me, but isn't it all based on theory and math, albeit, new theory and new math? Anyway, enjoy it while it lasts, because like you say, things tend to change, and like they used to tell us in my working days, usually just before they hammered us:whip:, the only thing you can depend on is change. Change is the constant. Or at least a good excuse to cut you off at the knees. :whip: Now where did that come from?

I first became interested in the Fibonacci progression in the late 50s when working on mag tape sorting alogithms for large scale early computers.

There are abundant examples of this progression in nature, architecture, music, and of course, a sucessful blackjack system. However, Sonny has banned me from discussing the later in this forum. :(
