Australian Crown and Conrad casinos finally busted...

I posted a while ago about how both casinos had refused to show me the cards in play both before and after a table opened/closed, and how I seemed to see a lack of 10 value cards. I wrote to the gambling commission and my member of local elected member and got a response that they had received several complaints would be providing extra checks.

Well, they got busted. They were found to be using pontoon cards in blackjack, re-using decks that were missing cards, and seemingly weirdly, to be using decks in texas holdem ring games that were missing cards (probably because at least 1/3 of the players are actually casino employees - i have seen them walk to casino staff only areas after games - any easy way to proven this is to walk upto the game with tones of money and act like a drunk idiot, you can bet a seat will open up almost instantly).

And guess what, they got a meger $16,000 fine and were only sited for 3 individual offenses. They only get busted as if they played out 1 hand of a game with a rigged deck - the actual hand they get busted on. What a joke.

Don't ever play at Australian casinos. They legally have the right to:
-never show the cards to you. Only the commission appointed supervisor has the right to ask them to do this.
-shuffle at any time for any reason.
-they are immune from being prosecuted in any way by anyone trying to get their money back after a hand of play is completed, even if they are proven to be cheating. You are essentially betting 'at your own risk'

Also, as i also posted here and i guess most people through i was crazy, they clearly rig blackjack shuffle machine games by using pontoon decks. I once counted 50 at hands a blackjack table with no '10' value cards (they had to be using a pontoon machine). what could I do? Nothing. The floor manager said he would open another table for me so I could play on another machine, but refused to spill the cards out for examination, and refused to entertain the idea of me in any way getting my money back. Once I even mentioned this security was sent over....

If this thing happens in a regulated casino what about the unregulated casinos. I have often suspected that there is nothing to stop Star Cruises from doing something like this in their casinos ships.
However over this last weekend I was thinking whether it is necessary for them to gain this extra 0.5% advantage. The standard of play is so bad their house advantage could be 5 or 10%. Why this last weekend one guy doubled his 9 against the dealer 10 in the European BJ rules where the dealer could gat a BJ.

SkyCity Adelaide were more than happy to show me the cards. I just asked out of sheer curiosity how many decks were in there between shuffles to pass the time, she flipped them all over and showed me all the decks face up. I always go late at night, so they might not be so bothered about wasting time on things like that then.

They wont let you touch any of the cards though. And they play it all from a shoe with the dealer getting his second card AFTER everyone else is done with theirs. It is really really hard to cheat at SkyCity :(

But if I was smart enough to think of and implement a way to cheat, I am sure it would be all the more satisfying.
