Automatic shuffles

Just back from a trip to a couple of new casinos i heard about near my home(Uk), chufted i found a place with lower limits with good rules to practice, that feeling was short lived when i noticed the Auctomatic Shuffling machine they used in both casinos, 3 rounds, reload the machine, 3 rounds,reload the machine..............rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flame:

yea to bad that sounds like a continuous shuffle machine rather than an automatic shuffler. sometimes they may not even go three rounds before reloading.

My last trip to Vegas, they had a dealer (the silent, grumpy type) that would load the cards into the shuffler after ONE round when the table was full and lots of cards had been dealt out.

I know it's not supposed to have that big of a difference in the long run, but that table sucked the money out of me like you wouldn't believe. I had to find another table.

In Sydney we've got automatic card shufflers. The cards are put into them after each hand.

I've noticed a couple of things:
1. When the shuffler jammed today I was playing Box 1, right next to it. When opened up, the cards were in an arrangement which looked very much like a ferris wheel, or like one of the old slide carousels. There appeared to be about six cards in each "bay".
2. The cards are inserted face up at the back, go into the ferris wheel arrangement, either up or down, and are face down when they come out on the opposite side.
3. The machine whirrs for a while when cards are inserted, and then stops. Further sound or vibration is not heard until the machine has more cards inserted.

My question is this: is there any chance that the machine works this way:
1. The cards inserted are shuffled by the ferris wheel.
2. The cards that were last in the ferris wheel are put on the back (bottom)of the stack to make them available for use.

And if that is so, can a count be kept on each hand which would then be relevant as it "comes back again" against a total of 312 - 6 decks?
