backcounting is so boring

How can I pass the time better, or have a better time backcounting? I get so bored after going through 5 6deck shoes and not getting a single key count even.

The only thing I can think of is sitting next to a friend who is playing all and then deciding to play when the count gets good enough.

Course, in that case, your friend is basically lying down in traffic for you and eating all those neutral/negative cards... sounds perfect!

But I feel your pain. What's irks me is that if you've got a table with like 4 civilians at it, they just play so slowly, and don't even get me started when ploppies start coming in with their ploppy-wonging and having to cash in $55 in wrinkled fivers.

Just keep telling yourself "at least I'm not betting in a count this bad... at least I'm not betting in a count this bad...". It helps, in a Wizard of Oz sort of way.

I'm not sure I see the difference, if u r back-counting, whether a friend is playing-all or not.

start backcounting 2 tables at a time. it is good practice.
i don't do it often, but i watch 2 tables to the point of 1 deck being dealt. at that point in time i turn my attention to the better of two tables.

Maybe you should get a new hobby. Try skydiving or bungyjumping. Seriously if counting is boring maybe its not for you! You might end up making a lot mistakes due to sloppiness. I'm not saying I find it the most exciting thing either but I'm amazed at how time flies when I go to the casino. Five hours can seem like minutes for me. You might want to mix in some play all. I know it will lower your EV but at least it won't be so boring for you.

I went into a casino today and tried seriously backcounting for the first time. At first I actually just sat down at a table and didnt play till the count got positive, bet $10, won, then left cause the count got bad. (Casino Windsor=No Heat)

Then I actually stood behind a table and backcounted and it can be kinda tedious but I like it. I just dont get how people can do more than one table at a time? Tables must be closer together than mine or maybe theyre all 7 feet tall.

we r 7 ft tall. but u can do it. when i count 2 tables it is when 2 shoes r startin at almost the same time, side by side- its not like im doin both all the way thru. ill look at 2 rounds and attack whichever is gonna get juicy. but if ur under 7 foot fuggedaboudit.
