1. If your barred from the casino your staying at, do they take out any discounted rate you had on the room away.

2. If you got a room comp'd prior to getting barred to they take the comp away.

By law; they can do neither. In actual practice, they oftentimes will attempt to do so. Whether or not you let them get away with it is another story.

not so if at the very beginning, the casino host said the discount / free room can be canceled at the casino's whim (even if you are already 3 weeks into your stay) and you said "yeah, ok"

But that is not what the OP stated. And even if it WERE, they couldn't make it retroactive. Just let someone - ANYONE - try to get away with charging MY credit card after they've already agreed to one price! If I purchase an airline ticket for one price, and the price subsequently goes up; does the airline try to charge my card? (Not that they wouldn't if they could!)

I know of a couple of times in which a casino DID pull this on friends of mine after barring them, and both people denied the charges to their credit card companies. Both times the casino in question (not the same casino for both instances) chose not to fight the denial of charges.

Now if - as they often do - they had told him up front that the comps were conditional on the amount of action; then of course they would have the right to charge full price for the room (Which is why you should always make it clear from the get-go what the arrangement is).
