Effort (and supporting cost) of scavenging for a machine and the ability to reverse engineer electromechanical (or software) systems are completely separate skills. It's nonsensical to claim that one has anything to do with the other. You meant nothing but offense with your comment.
But even if I am guaranteed to have the ability to reverse engineer the machine, there is still a gamble of whether it is beatable or not; I'm not sure I'm willing to take that $10,000 - $20,000 bet personally, since my job's EV is even higher than being able to travel around exploiting CSM's. However, I'd love to crack the thing for the satisfaction, or if I can get one cheaply (even broken) it might be worth a look.
