beatable?

The game is 6D, DAS, DOA, Splited aces just get one more card, Pen changes with dealer from 50 to 75% after new shoe they discard 6 face down card.

I went there and play "for fun" since i had only seen 50% pen didnt think in counting also i was just waiting for a seat to open at hold'em table (just before i knew it was NL so i kept playing BJ just for a while though). Hour and half later i was 7.5units up and i called the night for gambling and went drinking hehe. i had a cousing over there who was boring the hell out :p

Anyways... couple questions... is this game beatable, i concern the 6 fd cards discardes as well as the pen, i was thinking flat table min until good dealer comes and then count and spread according count.

What spread should i use? i don't think ill get any heat since ill be at lowest stakes table (dont have much of a br).

Was thinking of raising my unit when good dealer comes but i see use of betting more than bare minimun when house has an edge.

Backcounting is not an option since table is always packed, good thing is i can use 'rider' technique.

Thanks for all the advise.

It can be beaten, but it’s not worth putting your money at risk for such a tiny reward. With such terrible penetration you will rarely see a positive count. Even using the rider technique will not help you much if you aren’t getting the chance to make any good bets. Since your bankroll is small you probably don’t want to risk losing it all in one night just for the chance to win a dollar or two.

Even with 75% penetration you would need a good spread and/or a lot of backcounting. This is more of a "just for fun" game.

That's what i thought, hoped otherwise tho...

I will "play for fun" while i get better at hold'em (and build a br to play NL)... Must check other 2 casinos near by or play video poker... either way i'll be here asking advice :p

How much pen should i be looking for to make the game profitable with same rules?

Must try a new casino an a boat casino, other than that i can only play online, however first i got to find out if its legal for me to play here in Mexico.

p.s by "good dealer" i meant pen 75-80%

80% would be considered pretty good. 75% is the low end of acceptable. At least, that's the way I "judge" tables. The 6 burned cards at the beginning of the shoe shouldn't bother you...just consider them part of the Penetration.

In Oklahoma the legal age is 18. Although I don't know of many 18 year olds that can afford to gamle.

Actually it's not about the age, i'm just over 21 so i guess i'm an adult most if not in the whole world, however in MEXICO casinos are against the law (for couple years more at least) we do have number games (bingo, yak, etc) and sports books... i dont like either. Luckly for me Belize is only 5 hours in bus, there're trips which cost 250 pesos (less than $25 usd) and you can buy at tax and duty free shops as well as play at the casinos over there. Plus i might go to "baha" to study my masters so Cal. is only couple hours away :cool2:

I'm struggling to build a br and so far i feel dissapointed of the game (bj), anyways i'll keep on building it and if i dont play bj at least i'll give hold'em a shot (even i dont like it beein NL, but now that i think it its pretty good) got off topic huh...

Thanks for advice and the burned cards, of course part of the pen... you guys rock!!

Will look the other casinos, until then im building my br with small jobs money hehe.
