O'Sheas is pretty fun, and the craps tables there aren't bad (I think they're limited to 3x odds, but they're usually $5 or $10 minimum so it's fun to play).

Don't be surprised at the 6:5 shoe game - O'Sheas is an HEI property.
Which means what? That one can expect 6-5 games at all Harrahs properties? As that isn't true,I have no idea what you are trying to convey.

That all the 6:5 shoe games on the Strip are at HEI properties. Do you have a counterexample?

You sound like you're desperately trying to find something with which to flame me, which really doesn't make sense. The fact that you had to post 8 different "best" casinos in post #3 validates my question in post #2. Get over it:)

O'Garbage

Single deck on the strip is 6/5 and Harrah's has gimmick pits (dealers who sing off key, girls in skimpy outfits and whatever) where shoes pay 6/5. They once had a bikini pit at the Rio where blackjack payed a whopping 1/1 or for the math wizz ploppies blackjack pays a fantastic 10/10.

But at all of these HET properties, with one exception, you can find 3/2 games. Most of them lack something when compared to competition. They may limit doubling, not have late surrender, perhaps no DAS or something but a couple of HET casinos do have one game that is decent but it will be of a higher limit variety.

The exception is O'Garbage or O'Shitholes or O'Sheas, however you wish to call it. Here you can find, I think, America's one and only 8 deck shoe that pays 6/5 but you can not find a single table that pays 3/2. But if that does not make you sick you can buy a one pound hot dog for $.99. The combination will destroy both your wallet and your stomach.

Flame you? For what?
You tell me.

Did you think my request for clarification in the second post was totally off-base? Clearly not, since in the very next post you proceeded to list a bunch of possibilities I covered. Obviously, you thought the request was as vague as I did. As a matter of fact, you later, again, had to field a question about why one of your "Best ..." was the "best".

Skip ahead to page 2, where you make some remark about me not being a serious gambler. As if a thread started by someone asking "I've never been to Vegas, tell me what the best casino is" is reserved for "serious gamblers" only?

Now to page 3. Can you post an counterexample of my rule that all 6:5 shoe games are found at Harrah's properties? If not, then what are you whining about? That's exactly why I made a crack at O'Sheas - it's owned by Harrah's; why be surprised at the 6:5 shoe games?

Page after page, you seem to just be dying to find something wrong with my posts.

So you tell me what you're looking for?:)

That's an opinion, not a fact!!!

Sorry shad, I couldn't resist that one.

I freely admit that it's a fact.

I give up about half of my edge in tips, and I've played about 4,500 hands of AP blackjack in SIX YEARS (although I played non-AP blackjack before that). I've only made two day trips with gambling as the primary purpose - both practice sessions with fellow counters at the beginning of my counting "career". Other than that, AP blackjack is what I play in the mornings in Vegas if I wake up before my friends or late at night if I stay up later than them. Every year on the plane ride to Vegas, I am furiously re-memorizing all the strategy change indices because I've forgotten them over the months of idleness, and I always have to play a shoe or two at a crowded bottom-limit table to get the feel of counting back into my system.

Strictly Slots magazine lists over 200 Best of Vegas winners.
LVA "Best of Vegas" list is almost 100 winners.
How many Oscars are given each year for being the Best?
I listed, what in my Opinion, were several of the Best in Vegas. I have no idea what you find offensive in this.

Harrahs owns Harrahs,Imperial Palace,O'Sheas,Flamingo,Bills,Paris,Ballys and Caesars and The Rio. One out of nine of its casinos has a 6/5 shoe game. A game which may predate it being aquirred by Harrahs. Thats why I called you on your stupid statement.

Actually 6 of the 9 HET casinos in Vegas have shoe games that pay 6/5!

Total shoe games paying 6/5 in all other Vegas Casinos 0!

It must mean something.

Really? Which ones? Its been awhile since I've played BJ in a Harrahs.
If this is true, then I apologize for jumping on callypigan for saying what he said. He was correct, and I was wrong. Until the new ownership,Binions had 6/5 shoes, and I've been told Hooters has them.

What constitutes the "best"? Lowest limits? Highest limits? Best scenery? Most accessible?
I apologize for being somewhat moody earlier in this thread Callipygian:)

I suppose at the time I posted this thread I was wondering what the most fun casino is, on any budget when gambling. (Blackjack)

(Sorry I failed to specify the exact points when creating the thread)

And all the Harrahs joints in AC are going H17 on their 8D shoes. Is this a stepping stone to 6:5 8D?

Called pussycats, dealertainers or whatever, last I checked Caesars, IP, Harrahs, O'Sheas, Ballys and Flamingo all had some 6/5 shoe games. With the exception of O'Sheas, you can also find 3/2 shoe games there but generally with inferior rules to some other casinos.

The Rio and IP had those games in The Bikini Pit and the celebrity zone before they were Harrahs properties.I've never seen a 6/5 shoe game in Ballys, but will admit I didn't check every table.
Isn't it 6/5 shoe games in the Playboy Club(non-Harrahs) and at most swimming pool BJ(non-Harrahs)

There was a $60 cover charge just to visit the Playboy Club when I visited the Palms on Memorial Day weekend. NFW I am going to pay that kind of money for the privilege of playing an inferior game!

Bikini pit was a Harrah's invention

Sorry but the Bikini pit only payed a whoping 10/10 (to sound good to the ploppies) or 1/1 and was put in by Harrah's.
CBJM list no 6/5 shoe games currently at Rio, Paris Caesars or Bill's, so it is 5 of nine, but all of Bill's borderline double deck games have been replaced by 6/5 single deck and all of their 6 deck shoes have been replaced by 8 deckers.
Caesars has the worst 6 deck shoe game that pays 3/2 at its lowest limits, since they limit doubling to just 10 and 11.

Bally's has 4 tables of 8 deck 6/5
Flamingo has 8 tables of 8 deck 6/5
Harrah/s has 3 tables of 6 deck 6/5 and 1 table of 8 deck 6/5
I.P. has 6 tables of 6 deck 6/5
O'Sheas has nothing but 6/5.

I'll still have to make a few assumptions, but let me list out my favorites.

If you're playing $25 minimums or more, I assume that "fun" means "making money". I've always preferred Mandalay Bay and Bellagio, just because they have high pain thresholds and nobody bats an eye when you cash out purple or yellow chips. Plus, there's a decent chance of spotting famous people and the other players are generally classy.

If you're playing $25 minimums and want boobies in your face while you play, there's also the option of playing at one of the pleasure pits listed by others - Planet Hollywood has an OK shoe game, and if you find a dealer who was selected for her looks rather than her dealing skills, you might be able to play the holecard.

If you're playing $10 minimums or more, I assume that "fun" is going to involve at least a halfway decent game with other things to do. The Monte Carlo has a good game, cheap rooms, and a good pool complex (whether you're boobie watching or bringing your family along). MGM also has a good $10 game and a million good restaurants, but I've never stayed there.

If you're dead set on $5 minimums, my favorite is the Tropicana. The place is a total dump but it's close to a lot of the other sites I've listed. I also found an awesome $5 shoe game at TI on my last trip but I think it was supposed to have a higher minimum - after I played for a while, the pit boss said the table was going "back" to $25.

Keep in mind that most of the MGM games are standardized, which means $10 minimum minimums and notch-based penetration. So you're not going to find a huge disparity among the games unless you head to HEI properties.
