Flash, I would just stay in the rooms there and play elsewhere ;) One thing I do know is this. If you can beat the games in AC, Vegas is like walking into a candy store.

I believe HET has modified their room comp software recently, taking into account recent play.

I have a Diamond card (from AC play.) I used a 3 night comp in LV last month and didn't play at any HET casino. Now, the free room offers are gone. A friend of mine had the same thing happen.

I am a Diamond Card holder and still get offers for free rooms at all of the H E T properties that I have ever stepped foot in and some that I have never been to.

On the other hand when I stiff them, I at least give them a dribble of small action at V.P. or craps.

That may be why I always receive offers.

On the other hand it could be the "LEVEL" that one is rated at.

Within the ordinary Bronze-Platinum-Seven Star levels there are levels.

I am a Diamond card Level Two.

Within Seven Stars there are levels such as "Butler Class"

Please do not ask me to elaborate upon this as I know little about it.

FYI, I was once told by the manager of one of the Diamond Clubs that there are 7 levels of Diamond and 2 levels of 7 Star.

I have been a Diamond Card holder for many years.

As my level has dropped, lately they charge me tax

on my comped rooms, and full suites are infrequent as well.

My mistake about staying 100 comp points. It should be 1000. My experience is that this shop doesn't stop offering promotions even though they label you as an AP. However, I also play VP. That's my weakness. I can win 1k from BJ in a half day work and then blow it on VP machine in a second.
Easy to do. VP is the most addictive form of gaming and even AP's aren't immune to its effects. The reason I think it's addictive is that you play it at exactly your own pace, plus it is not mindless like slots, so it kind of wires itself into your brain as you play.

One way to control it is to figure out exactly how much action you need in order to get what you are looking for, and count out the hands as you go. Should be very easy for a card counter. At a local store I am working a VP game for almost a 10% advantage, providing I can keep getting the freerolls giving it as little action as I am. If they stop coming I'll up the action just enough until I get them again.

Thunder,

Surely, Las Vegas has more and better opportunities than does A.C.

What you are neglecting to consider is that the heat in L.V. is severe.

I have spent a lot of time in L.V., but lately I avoid Nevada.

When I am not playing in A.C. I am in Mississippi.

Foxwoods has very fine games, but I am "persona non grata" there.

You have written off Nevada Flash?? I assume this is only a temporary situation. I have done just the opposite, transfering my home base from AC to LV to improve my EV for next year (and I guess the next 19 after that) Even with more heat in Vegas, there are so many more opportunities that it will be a while before I burn through all of them. (hopefully)

If you're open to playing double deck and 6-deck, then Vegas has tons of places to play. It's also helpful to be flexible with the amount of money you'll play with. If you're only willing to play blacks, then you're limiting your options due to the large number of good games that won't take black action well. If you only play green, then you'll miss out on some of the best games due to the $50 or $100 table minimums.

Opening yourself up to black and green chip play as well as double deck and 6-deck play gives you a huge number of options. It would be tough to burn them all out unless you're playing all day every day. Because of this I rarely ever go anywhere other than Vegas.

Just my opinion!

Kewl Jason,

I'll go to Las Vegas for a week - in Feb or March in
all likelihood; but I loathe and despise having to absorb the
significant cost of roundtrip airfare for two from the East Coast.

Leaving the East coast (phila/NY/NE regions) for a week or two in February is definately an advantage play! Always notice alot of people wearing yankees, jets, mets, phillies, eagle, redsox garb during february. Wonder why? :laugh

I find airfare still reasonably cheap. Except of course during peak holiday travel time. I'm very comfortable flying cheap Southwest coach seats. I don't need first class, nor a meal. Just get me there in 4 hours without landing in a river and I'm good.

I know that you can find flights from the East Coast to Vegas for $200 roundtrip if you're flexible on the dates and times. Even so Kewl, that cost will take some time to make up in terms of EV unless you're a black chip bettor.

Green chip better can make that EV up in one day easy, without even pushing himself, leaving the other 6, 8, 10, 13 days for profit. During my past vegas trips I would cram in as many hours as I could, 80 to 100 in a week to 10 day trip.

KewlJ,

Do any of the stores in AC that you play at have an in house travel service? If they do, see if they'll let you use your comp points to pay for your flight.

At Mohegan you can use your points for travel at the rate of 1.5 comp dollars to $1 ticket cost.

I am really not familar with this at all? If they do and maybe some other AC players can answer this, I must not qualify. I am not a black chip player. I bet quarters, spreading 1-12.

Exactly. It is very addictive. I understand about setting a limit of action and having control. I don't quite understand how counting out the hands could help. Please elaborate. The only time I count number of hands was when I just want to cycle through a set number of free slot dollar in a hurry.

If you lay an unlimited amount of action on -EV VP you are going to lose all of your money. What you need to do is figure out how much you need, to get to a tier level or a comp or whatever, and start counting down the hands until you approach it. If you need $1000 in action to get a coupon or a tier start counting out 200 hands.

I just want to share that I did get a diamond card from one of the Harrahs shops at AC. Besides the card, I got 4 x $50 slot money and $50 food comp deposited into my account. Sweet. Don't miss it. The deal may not end by Dec 31, as I was told. BJ games still bad unless one can afford $50 min, which has 6d, 1.5 pen (dealer dependent), DAS, S17. I had a great trip BTW.

Thank you, OP.
