Can this work

#1
Hello my friend told me a strategy that he says will work in blackjack its a betting strategy you need $7350 to start and your bets start at $70 you move up one unit so 70 then 140 then 210 then 280 an so on your final bet is 980. He says that in the long run you will win with this system. I've told him no betting system works, I tried this system on a black jack program and after about 300 hands I was up. I need someone who has some software to try it for lets say 10000 hands and see the results, it would take me forever to do that with the program i have 1 at a time. I cant afford to buy any of the other programs. If you think this cannot work, and testing it is a waste of time. Please explain to me the exact reasons why, so I can let him know. Because he is just waiting to save up 7350 to go and try this. thanks for your help.

sorry i forgot to tell that you increase your bet one unit everytime you lose and when you win you go all the way back to your original amount i have heard of a similiar system to this where you increase one unit and then decrease a unit after winning but i have not seen this one talked about

wow! you know what? you could easily lose $980.00 in fourteen hands! that would be my luck! lol. i could almost guarantee it.
$70 dollars a wack and then doubling it and then adding on $70 for each wack till you get to a final bet of $980.00 seems a bit extreme don't ya think?
so i guess if you lose the $980.00 then you always have $6370.00 more to lose right?
what's the plan on this? play how many hands? planning on just one trip or is this an ongoing plan? doesn't much matter i would think. losing that kind of money at the rate your likely to lose it betting that kind of money is scary enough however your plans are laid out.
so is it a waist of time? yes. why? because when you play blackjack with the best of play you can muster your still gonna lose more hands than you win. and even with the blackjack bonus and double downs your still gonna lose more money in the long run than your gonna win. that's how the long run statistics work out unless your counting cards and even if your counting cards with just a $6370.00 bankroll and betting a $70.00 unit and doing it the way you describe just your trip risk of ruin much less your lifetime risk of ruin would be enormous. if your gotta save up to get $6,370.00 it doesn't sound as if you can afford to lose it much less enjoy losing it either.

edit....
and the up and down if win, lose or what ever malarkey won't cut it either. just meaningless. way to much money to risk IMHO.

that's an idea! if he plays say one hand a month his money will stretch out a loooong time. :)
does he or you know how to play proper basic strategy?

yes i understand that if i bet say the same amount every hand, with basic strategy i would lose more often than win. and would be down money
that's right.
lemme just tell you this. you sound like a nice person. you don't sound as if you have much experience. maybe you have some knowledge about all this stuff but i'm guessing maybe your and your buddy are a bit green around the gills so to speak.
so if that's correct i'd just say this. proceed with extreme caution with this blackjack stuff. guard your money like you guard your life.
so if your interested in this stuff then go ahead and study up on it but stay away from the casino's for a good long while untill you know as much about blackjack as you know the back of your hand. otherwise if you do go in the casino's here is what i think is gonna happen. you might win or you might lose but till you really, really, really know what your doing then in the short long run and it might be really short your gonna lose your hard pressed money.
sorry for the rant but you seem an alright sort and that's just my take on it.
so i gotta get some  for now. and maybe some one else will have some comments or what ever. take care.

Almost any legit card counting system will work.
Many will give you a house edge of about 1%.
For every $100 you bet, you'll win $1 on average.
If you average $10 a bet and play 100 hands an hour, you can expect to make about $10 an hour. Assume your biggest bet is $20. You should have a minimum of $500 bankroll with you,and perhaps
$3,000 total. This will allow you to make around $400 a week, provided you can play 40 hours a week.If you can keep your expenses(rooms,food,entertainment,clothing,medical-dentist,ect...) under $300 a week, you'll be okay. Most weeks.Other weeks, there are food kitchens.
More realistic, you need at least $25,000 to begin to make any real money.
Playing BJ for a living is one of the slowest get rich quick methods out there.
But it can be done. Just not the way your friend is trying.
