Card counting time might be over!

#1
I was a Blackjack card counting player for almost 20 years. Based on the high/low card value you decide how much to wager and to hit, stand or double. For the past few years I have noticed the casinos increasing the volume of the dealer's cut (undealt cards) to about 50% for single deck and double decks; and cut about two decks on the six deck shoe game. This make card counting not working as before. I have to give up card counting or only use it to decide hit or stand on some difficult hands. I think it's time for card counter to find strategies other than card counting. :cool2:

He/she has all the markings of a casino shill (fresh out of Protecting The House 101).

And I concur with Flash--ROTFLMAO:

His bj terminology, and his grammar reminds me of the grammar in an e-mail I once got from a Nigerian check scamster.

Obviously counting is not for you. The numbers in your ID add up to 12, not 21.

What strategies are available and which do you think I should use for double deck?

about 12 hours ago i was at a casino with an 8 deck shoe where the cut was about 10-12 cards! All the dealers were doing it not just one or two-ALL!:joker:

Do you mean 10-12 burn cards or cut card placed close to back of shoe?

Of course his advice is reasonable in a sense, but there is still a lot (by my definitions) of money to be made counting. I honestly think that the games will still be beatable by counting 20 years from now. Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I think too much change in the game will not bode well for its popularity with civilians; if that weren't the case, I suspect that many of the people beating the games now without counting would likely be out of business due to easily-corrected game procedure changes. A lot of people like "traditional" casino games.

Anthony Curtis said there are hundreds if not thousands of clueless players for each advantage player. The casinos have a real good thing going-doubt they're about to let it go. Back in the 60's when they made the game much more restrictive in order to thwart counters it lasted just a couple of weeks 'cuz folks just stopped going to the tables! Let's all salute the ploppies-if not for them the game could change dramatically.:joker:

:sad:Where do I turn in my AP badge?

Seriously, I don't know where you play, but what you need to do is find other games than the ones you're now playing. To paraphrase a famous saying, The games are out there!" Other strategies, as you say, is always good advice, as well.:)

Maybe if Atlantic City allowed Mid-Shoe Entry and dealt out more of the decks they wouldn't have been the Gaming Destination that had the most revenue decline in 2009.
