Casino Game Protection (Book)

I'm looking to purchase Steve Forte's Casino Game Protection:A Comprehensive Guide. I know it retails on Amazon, but am looking to save a few dollars on the price tag. If anyone here has a copy they would like to sell or possibly exchange please PM or post. I am also interested in some discussion on the book (pro or con) and what it's most profitable inclusions are considered to be with respect to casino games. I have read Beyond Counting (followed by CAA) and found that to be the most valuable work available but am interested to know if there is anything different in Forte's book WRT advantage play techniques.

Thumbs up from me

I really like the book. I wouldn't say it has much direct value for a player, but it does have some solid information that will stimulate your mind. It will make you aware of many opportunities (both legal and illegal) that you probably weren't aware of. Just keep in mind that it is meant to be a book on protecting the game, not taking advantage of it. If you have ECAA then you have the latter topic covered already.

Yeah, as Steve Forte demonstrated it probably isn't the best reference for exploiting (illegal) opportunities!

I've got the Dustin D. Marks book on cheating, that's kind of outdated but pretty interesting. What I'd like is a good technical reference on card bending, not that I'm planning to bend cards but I've seen enough damaged cards in various games that I'd like to be able to exploit them.

What's the difference between the book and GAMBLING PROTECTION SERIES 3 DVD set?
Ive got the VHS tapes, how do they compare? The tapes gave me some perspective on legal methods as well though I haven't got much interest in cheating equipment. I think some of the card handling and dice handling may help in spotting opportunities, but for now I just want to soak up the theory.

Yikes. Not really addressing the moral question, but playing marked cards can get you into legal trouble even if you didn't mark them.

Great advice but I think you missed the point.

The OP appears to be just wondering how to spot a random bent card. This thought occured to me but so far seeing a bent 8 or 6 didn't seem that important. If it was a 10 or A and was bent/mishapen accidentally, I see lots of value and no downside to knowing how to recognize it when it comes up next. Just be careful not to double that 20 when you see the A coming.

Moo's advice is great though, If you noticed cards that were marked intentionally by an earlier patriot of the casino. This would be outright cheating which I personally would never take advantage of. That kind of move could land you in jail. Just like a dealer who gets too cozy and overpay's with a wink. IT'S TIME TO LEAVE!

The book is available from :-

http://www.bjrnet.com/shop/casinosecurity.htm

I am from Asia and since the price is $195(which is costly!), is it safe(or can be trusted) to order this book from bjrnet.com ?

Any other sources to buy this book with cheaper price ?

James

It's been several years since I've ordered anything from there but I never had any problems with any of my orders. Don't have any up to date info though.
