I just got an email saying there will be a casino night with professional dealers and pitbosses and blackjack will be available. Anyone think that could be good or nah?

sometimes those 'schools' have really low table minimuns that you might be able to take advantage of. plus it may give you some insight into the mind set of the pit. i've never done it but have considered it.

Charity Casino Nights

Typically, charity casino nights take ties with blackjack paying 2-to-1. With some others, ties may be a push, but blackjack then pays even money.

Charity games here BJ pays 2-1 but you can only double 10 or 11, I think no DAS either. Nice games to learn BJ and practice strategy since you can play for $1 but with a max of $5, I doubt the game can be beat unless you get a peek from an inexperienced dealer. Usually the take goes to a good cause.

I had casino night at my school too. We didn't bet with real money but were given fake money that could be cashed out for tickets that would enter you into a drawing for prizes. The best strategy is to bet it all on one hand either once, twice, or whatever, because card counting/advantage plays will be meaningless.
