I was the so-called experienced blackjack instructor. I didn't post this prior to the event because I didn't want any of you guys who live in the area coming by and making me nervous. It went very well though. Everyone (all 7 of them) thanked me and they all said they learned a lot. They ranged from a guy who's thinking about becoming a counter, to a woman who didn't know what doubling meant. AND, I got paid for it. Go figure.

Leon - one of those 7 was a casino executive. Don't be surprised if you get half-shoed the next time you sit down at a table in AC ;)

You are correct. I was kidding. The smiley at the end for the humor-impaired.

I was supposed to teach a similar class last winter.Had almost twenty people sign up for a class on getting the most out of a trip to AC. NYC had two snowstorms last year. One was the day before the class and schools were shut, the other was on the make-up date and schools closed early.I put a lot of time and effort into it,all for naught.

I know what you mean about the time and effort. I spent a lot of time coming up with an outline and had no idea if it would fill two hours or not. Turns out I spent a little too much time on some stuff and had to rush through some important things at the end. I had a great time doing it though and I was SO glad that the people who came got a lot out of it. I'd love to do it again sometime if I ever get the opportunity.

Did you just cover BS or get into counting at all?
I gave a very brief overview of card-counting (along with my email address if they wanted a private lesson). However, I covered other things besides BS, including some other games.

I could imagine you'd be awesome to teach that class.

Thank you. In 1990 and again in 2000,I worked on the US Census. Both times,I was able to teach classes for new workers and found it quite enjoyable. In 2000,one of my 'sudents" was a JHS principal who tried to recruit me as a candidate for NYCs Teachers Academy. Wasn't meant to be.
