Even though the MGM chain does not own the Cosmo would a back off there result in maybe the neighboring casinos being notified? (Aria and Bellagio)

My guess is that they wouldn't bother especially since they are not owned by the same company.

From my experience no. BO in Cosmo, played Aria same day.

It looks like they backed off a relatively large number of people.
However, I assume it also depends on what stakes you were playing...

Cosmo is an aggressive reporter on the Oregon Surveillance Network.

"Oregon" ?
This puny little statewide network of casinos has mushroomed into a semi-national network. Eventually they'll rub someone the wrong way and the people who run this network will get sued into oblivion...just like Griffin did.

How is vegas not worth it? I had the best time of my life in vegas, dispite being backed off at at least 15 properties, including cosmo...on day one, hour 2 :)

I also played at many other casios following that backoff, inlcluing the cosmo where i was backed off a second time the next day.

Flamingo shared my information with ceasars, and that resulted in me getting backed off. They approached me and asked me about the previous day in flamingo and that was the first thing they said so it had to be shared info.

Do they use your photo image in the system to ID you or you used their card for comp?

I used to like playing Vegas, but after my last trip, middle of last year, I decided it would be quite a while before returning. Compared with AC, it's heaven, bu there's a lot more out there than just those two.

Which game did you play at Flamingo that was worth it to play long enough to get backed off? Were you playing rated, if so, where were you playing rated?

I'm glad I still have a good name with Harrah's (despite sitting with a high rolling counter at Showboat who got half shoed). Harrah's in Chester, PA doesn't give me heat at the green chip level so I rack up comps there. Got a free room for a week in Vegas, and used my accrued comp points for free meals.

If you got backed off at Flamingo, and then subsequently got backed off across the street at Caesars, you've been flyered if you played unrated. If you're playing rated, your name is ruined for life. You'll get immediately backed off at any blackjack table as soon as your card is swiped, except maybe for the worthless 6-5 8D tables. Say goodbye to your comps, if you still have points, use them all up ASAP. You will need to find another player's card in a slot machine to play rated from now on.

You were backed off at least 15 times during a week trip? Were you counting out loud? Seriously, can you share (in public or private)some details of what limits you were playing, length of sessions, employing any cover at all?

I know some players who only hit a certain area once in a while don't care about backoffs/barring and go for broke, playing very agressively, figuring they won't be back for a while. I also know there are players that for some strange reason think of backoffs/barrings as a feather in their cap. This I never understood.

As a player who live in and plays vegas almost exclusively for the last 16 months and a good deal during many trips before that, 15 backoff in a few days seems unthinkable to me. I can count the number of backoffs/incidents I have encountered on two hands and I still have a few fingers left over. Admittedly I work hard at that aspect of my game. So I would like to know in more details about your play style, to avoid ever copying it.

Harrahs shares info the same way MGM does. I got backed off at Aria because they said "You were backed off at the Mirage a few hours ago".

I hadn't actually even been backed off at the Mirage but they must have entered it into the computer or I had a flyer out.
