when i walk into the hardrock casino in hollywood and play the 25 dollar tables, the cards come from a machine and they dont play thru 6 decks unless 6 decks is very small.they play 3-4 hands it seems and than starts a new deck.does anyone know why and are all casinos like this.maybe im not understanding it 100 percent because im faily new to the casino blackjack but when i play at home it seems much different.maybe some one could help me on this matter becuase i dont know if this is just in hardrock or every casino.

Sounds like the table is using a continual shuffling machine, you'll hear folks here call it a CSM. The dealer deals maybe 2-4 rounds and puts those cards back in the shuffler so to speak. If you want to count cards don't play at a table using a CSM. Good luck.:joker:

All casinos are NOT like this, not even THIS one.

If you go outdoors and walk towards the poker room you'll find 3 bj tables right in front of the poker room. These tables are all eight decks, hand shuffled. The last time I was there it was 85% penetration, which means that they were dealing seven out of eight decks before shuffling. If it rains, they close these tables until the rain stops.

a 85% penetration is a beatable game, although it sure is going to take a good amount of work (ie concentration) to keep accurate tabs on the counts. also, think of the problems ONE mistake, early on, could cause...you could very well play 6 decks worth of card with the count off by 4-6 points, and lose a good chunk of your bankroll while thinking your just "getting unlucky"

i personally dont play at games with more then 2 decks and with less then 60% penetration. i try very hard to get the dealer "working" with me by make tip bets near the end of the deck..for me, at least, ive seen ALOT of extra hands with very high TC's by putting two nickles in front of my $300 BB...

whoops...didnt mean to change the subject...sorry :whip:

You get the dealer to breach procedure by continuing to deal past the cut card with your toke bets in DD?

I would assume he is talking about handheld games w/ no cut card. I can't imagine any dealer intentionally dealing a round past the cut card for a couple nickels.

Sucker, great info! I stopped by once not too long ago in the early a.m. and sat for a few minutes at a 6-deck $10 shoe game inside. Thanks for the tip on those outside tables - any comment on how busy those are?

thanks,
SP
