Differing Basic Strategy Charts

Hi,

General question please, I played in Sands at Macau last week and did well $100 HKD mimmum table, nice steady basic strategy play, came away with $8,500 HKD Up in a few hours.

Before hand I had gone onto the "Wizard of Odds" website for Macau and download the basic strategy chart and used this to play.

http://wizardofmacau.com/games/blackjack.html

Since then I was cross checking the strategy chart i used with the one provided on Blackjackinfo.com.

6 Deck, Dealer stands on soft 17, Double Any Cards, Double After Splitting allowed, Early Surrender.

http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php?numdecks=6+decks&soft17=s17&dbl=all&das=yes&surr=es&peek=yes

99% similar but there are some differences, for example, wizard of Odds chart says 8/8 against an Ace you Split where as blackjack info for the same says Surrender or hit if allowed.

Apparently surrender is not allowed in Macau against an Ace, which is why the Wizard's chart does not show that for 88vA.
Since the Strategy Engine here doesn't have an option to disallow surrender vs dealer Ace, it shows surrender.

Thanks Ken,

much apreciated, I'm off Ski-Ing next month and intend to visit the Casino in Kitzbuhel, don't suppose anyone knows the house rules for this casino.

Austrian / German casinos are NOT exploitable; but then again, that is probably NOT a concern for you, as the Macau casinos aren't either.

I assume by NOT Exploitable you mean you can't count cards due to Automatic Shuffle Machines.

I'm in the early stages of learning REKO but have to say that for the casual playing I do, it's difficult to find casino's that don't have ASM's, which means little point learning a counting strategy.

So I just enjoy the pleasure of playing basic strategy acurately and seem to win more than loose by being solid on this.

That's great, but don't expect it to last. Blackjack has a player disadvantage with perfect basic, just like every game in the casino.

I understand, my intention when learning basic strategy and the start of counting was to play for the thrill and the free drinks.

I'll loose playing basic over time, I accept that, but i bet I would have spent more on booze if I wasn't getting it free at the tables.

Do not confuse ASM with CSM
The latter is a CONTINUOUS SHUFFLING MACHINE.

But now I understand.
You play for the drinks.
