Do most casinos have the split rules?

At the Casino I play at you cannot hit after splitting aces, only double down. Does this change my basic strategy? What should I do if I get like an Split Ace and a 2 vs. Dealer 2?

Most casinos ONLY ALLOW 1 CARD to split Aces. zg

Usually when you split aces, you get one card dealt to each of them and thats it. If you are allowed to double down on a split ace hand, do whatever your BS chart says to do.

Is this a rare rule, or have I just missed it?

I was playing at the Plaza a while back and split Aces with topBet out v. 4 - got 7 on the first one and when the dealer paused for instruction I saw a chance to make a move - I doubled - 2nd Ace got a 6, doubled - dealer pulled 20 and won both and as she reached to scoop my chips I said wide-eyed "Oh, wait, I forgot - I'm not allowed to DAS with Aces!" Pit boss declared it a dead hand.

Those kinds of opportunities arise daily if you THINK FAST! zg

That kind of opportunity happened a lot back in mid-January at Plaza when they first changed the rules. They were so used to allowing resplitting Aces that you could get away with for a day or two some of the time! Also could get by with doubling after split. And, like you said, you could always call "Boss!" if you lost. All you'd get from the dealers was grumbling at the "stupid new management." They were much more concerned about the new shuffle routine than the rules changes!
