Few questions related to blackjack

#1
Hi Guys
I have few questions related to blackjack and hope to get useful inputs from experiences players here before I play with real money

1. How effectively card counting works with 6 decks?

2. Is it advisable to play on a table which pays 6 to 5 for blackjack? The reason I ask this is because the tables which pay 3 to 2 for blackjack near my area are all above $25

3. Some casinos have a rule for splitting aces that you only get to deal one card with each split card when its an ace(just like when we double). Is it true for all the casinos?

4. What kind of blackjack games are most recommended to play in casino and how many players are ok to take the advantage?

Finally, please suggest/recommend good books or tutorial
Thanks

1. Done right, it's works well.
2. NO! Never play 6:5.
3. Yes, that is typical. Some casino allow resplitting aces, meaning if you get another ace on your resplit aces, you can split again (but still only get one card on each ace). It's a very small percentage edge (.08%) because it doesn't happen very often.
4. Shoe games are the mainstay of counters. DD games are better, but playing them for any length of time without detection is difficult.

Based on your questions, you have a LOT of reading to do before you try to play with an advantage.

Knockout Blackjack by Fuchs and Vancura is a good place to start. There have been many threads on recommended books. Do a search.

Never play on a 6-5 payoff. a $20.00 6-5 pays $24.00, 3-2 pays $30.00 big difference. Also do they allow surrender? That's a big option. Can you split any pair? You need to master the basic strategy before you even think about counting. After you completly understand the game, you will be able to play the basic strat. because it will make sense to you, instead of just memorization. Practice on free insrtuctional websites that will tell you if you made a bad decision. It sounds like counting is a lot of hours away from you for now.

The casino around me doesnt allow surrender option
I understand that I must first practice a lot, read a lot and learn much about the game before venturing out in the casinos

I have been to hitorstand website and practice everyday
Is it advisable to buy 6 decks, a card shuffler(just like the way casinos have it) and play with yourself as the dealer and player
Do the game change very much when there are multiple players?
What is the best way to practice apart from online

Thanks

First, I had to laugh when I read your quote. (the playing with yourself part sounded a little wierd lol)
I wouldn't buy a shuffler, just hand shuffle, Buy a poker chip tray at any dept. store. Get a few freinds together and play for fun, use a cheat card, take your time and soon you will have the B.S. down. The more hours you play, the more you will understand why the cheat card calls for certain moves. You don't want to play for money untill you know B.S. After you comfortable, hit the casino, play a five dollar table w/ good rules, take your card if you need it. Once you can master any situation without thinking about it, you can think about learning to count (at home)

Also, I would recommend using the basic strategy engine on this website to produce an accurate basic strategy for the rules you are playing. It's only a little edge, but every little bit helps.

A friend turned me on to BJ and LOANED me the book "Playing Blackjack As A Business" by Revere. I started practicing basic strategy with the PC game "Hoyle Casino". The facemaker option is a hoot (but I'm easily entertained). This was b4 I started getting serious and found this site.
Also, there was a thread a week or so ago about what books might be recommended that was very thorough, but I don't remember the thread title.
Anybody else recall ???
Good Luck:)
