First time in Vegas

#1
I just got to Las Vegas yesterday - I will be here until the 7th of April.

I have been playing Blackjack for awhile around home (Minnesota) at the Indian casinos and have had a relatively good track record playing BS at $5 tables. I don't flat bet, I generally just randomly change my bet amount and hope the variance tips in my favor. I know that betting strategies don't work in the long run. I have left the casino only once having lost my entire bankroll ($60) and the rest of the time either broke even or turned a $60 bankroll in to $100-175.

Last night at the Stratosphere I played BS just the same with a $200 bankroll betting reds and the occasional green. I ended up getting some good variance and despite dipping down to less than $50 at some point I ended up finishing the night with about $290 which payed for some drinks and a cheap ($40) hotel room.

Here's the question - what SHOULD I be doing in Vegas? I know the basics of hi-lo and card counting, and I'm willing to cram some pre-casino practice before I hit the tables. I really should only have a bankroll of $3-500, and I'm fine with turning even a small profit - I'm here for the fun and not to get rich. Am I best off just continuing as a BS player and having a good time? Any must-see/do attractions?

While card counting isn't brain surgery. I don't recommend learning on the fly, especially while you are drinking and having a good time.

If you're just wanting to play BS, might I recommend something like "Slots o' fun" or something that has a low table minimum... If you want to "try" to make a small amount of money, might I recommend spreading 5-$20 at single deck at the "El Cortez".
