Dear BJinfo members,
So I want to officially introduce myself..I have been a lurker here on the board for almost a couple of years now, and have been playing blackjack a month or two longer. I must admit since starting out this journey, it has been more than just a learning experience. It has cost me a nice amount to even tip the iceberg of mastering this game. I must say though every penny lost has been worth it, and I am still a firm believer that it works.
I understand now though, that it is much more to successful blackjack AP play than strictly play all counting cards. Since starting out a couple of years ago, I have since moved to Las Vegas and I think I have a chance to build on my little bankroll by having the oppurtunity to wong. I have worked hard this past year and have save up a small bank roll to finally begin some decent play.
After many trials and tribulations I have decided that wongging is a great way to build a bankroll starting out. I would like to ask what would be your wong unit for a 5000.00 dollar replenishable bankroll, if you only scouted double deckers. I was thinking of a 40.00 max bet at +3 counts and 75.00 max bet at >+6.
Although I have been playing for this long, I have not yet mastered calculating risk of ruin and thus why I am not a successful AP as of yet. But I have plenty of patience and developed a bit of tough skin. So ream me for not mastering ROR but please inform me on how you would utilize a 5000.00 bankroll strickly wongging.

I would say it depends on how replenishable your bankroll is and how gambly you are. My bankroll is about the same size and I am comfortable putting out max bets of $200 at TC+5. I am more of a recreational player though. The pros will have to weigh in on your ROR.

your best bet is to get CVCX so you can calculate right away what would be the best betting ramp to use at the game you're going to be playing at.

I just made a trip to vegas, Its a lot different than the casinos elswhere in the country. I would highly disadvise wonging in and out of double deck games on the grounds that, you may want to play in the future with larger amounts of money. while wonging in and out of DD games, you will only play a couple hands before you wong out, and then you will only play a few "shuffles" before you need to leave. Even though you are betting only 40-75 dollars, which I agree is a decent bet size. You will still likely see consequences eventually.

I think you should wong in and out of 6d games with two hands of 25 and press it to 2x 50 at higher counts. This way, you will get more hands in per casino run before you need to leave. On your way out, you can drop a couple bets on the dd games before you leave also, but you should primarily be playing the shoes to get more money into action and avoid prolonged time at DD games. The DD games IMO are on lock down and i think its a ghood idea to steer clear untill youv got a feel for getting heat and developed some acting skills

Ferret,
Thank you for the input. 6Ds do make since. I was thinking DD because I utilize a few more tricks than straight cc. I was thinking a hit and run style, but I guess building my bankroll up with 6Ds and then moving on to other options make sense. I think 50X2 is a little steep for my bankroll? I am patient and would be happy with avergage of one unit per hour. I think 2 units average only in positive expectations can handle this?

I will look in to CVXX, but I think the tables offer much more experience than at home on the computer. I can be in a casino and observe the situation and see if it is an oppurtunity, I can only approximate at home. I can also do this without spending a dime.

I can tell you without a doubt that CVCX is some of the most efficient use of BR you can get. There are a few things I wish it did (like support Sp21 :p ) but you can figure out an optimal ramp, see and tweak your standard deviation, and easily compare the quality of games (among other things).

Playing 50x2 is the same as playing 67x1 so in a sense, 50x2 is better than 75x1 Dont sweat it too much, in the end, you will likely only have green chips at the end of the shoe from conversions by the dealer.
