Foxwoods Bust the Dealer

#1
I was at Foxwoods the other night and found a new option on theri bj games.
They now have the bust the dealer option side bet with the super 8's .
The dealer must break with a total of three cards in order to receive the payout --- I do not remember all the pay outs -- but a bust with :
10 --- 3t0 1
9
8
7
6 30 to one

we did hit the 3 same color eights for a 50 to one pay out

For 3 8's suited the payout is 200 to one

This side bet was found in AC when playing blackjack attack.

By the way the max side bet iw $ 25

Just wondering if at what count the side bet might become a positive situation ??? if at all ?

This is one of my first posts - so please forgive the missing details

I enjoy reading all the posts -- thanks

I too noticed the new side game where you bet that the dealer will bust with three cards.
I didn't play it because I assumed that it was just another sucker's game, but you bring up a very interesting point.
I haven't done the math or the simulations, mostly because I don't have the proper tools, but here's my guess,...
At negative counts, a lot of small cards are expected, so the dealer is less likely to bust on the third card.
If the remaining deck composition is comprised of twice the number of large cards as small cards, then large cards are twice as likely to come out.
Two large cards and a small card would bust the dealer on three cards.
small, large, large (bust)
large, small, large (bust)
large, large (there would be no need for a third card)
At extremely high counts, the dealer wouldn't need to draw a third card.
So, it seems that this side game is profitable only between certain counts.
