If he wongs out at anything worse than -1, and if he only spreads $10-80, and if he plays for 8 hours on this trip, he will have a trip RoR of over 20% and a winrate of around $11 per 100 rounds. If he plays his proposed $15 minimum and still spreads 1-8, he will have a trip RoR of over 40% and a winrate of about $17 per 100 rounds. Either way, the SCORE is around 13. SCORE improves with a higher spread, but RoR increases rapidly as well. These numbers come from my CVCX sim that uses my index plays, which almost certainly includes more indices than the OP will know. It also assumes no counting or playing errors, which is unlikely for someone who does not yet know much of anything about counting. No matter what parameters I put in for spread and wonging, I could not get a SCORE above 30 for one hand or above 43 for two hands. On the upside, if he can backcount and only play positive counts, he can potentially make $12-15 per hour with a reasonably low trip RoR. Regardless, his friend is still getting a poor deal and the best move to maximize the OP's profits is to play for high variance.
