Have a question about a blackjack game..

Well my friends have there own little casino and they run a 8 deck game BJ game. Ive played this shoe many times and it seems like the deck is altered. It seems as if there are less face cards then there should be and more low cards. So the count gets up there pretty high but it never comes down. They only cut about a 1/2 deck in. If there taking out some faces and adding in low cards (2-6) does this give them a huge advantage?

Yes, that would give them a large advantage. Taking out 4 high cards and replacing them with low cards would roughly double the house edge from 0.5% to 1%. Each additional 4 cards would add another half percent.

If that's the case, can we generalize: If a non-counter is on a CSM with a full table, and 20 of the 22 cards that come out in Hand #1 are non ten's, shouldn't he treat the next hand as a 'raise your bet hand'. After all, those cards will not be included in the next hand.

I wouldn't ever play there if I had even the smallest thought the game was rigged. I *might* bring 6 sealed decks with me and insist they use my nice new cards for the game.
Edit: Obviously I meant 8 decks (for an 8 deck shoe). Seriously, what sort of friends are those, anyway? If they would rip you off they can just rot in hell.
