Ok. Things went well again at River Rock! At least I'm out of the losing streak for a while. Won $75.

Anyways, as usual I started out losing so I took a break. Was down $100. Oh, before I forget, one reason I took the break is there was some ploppy who criticized my hitting a A7 against a dealer's A! The dealer and the PB got mad at him! Nice to see them intervene. The PB almost told his wife to shutup! So I went and tried to cool off for a while. Came back to the table and couldn't find a seat. So I walked around for an hour +. Came back and the ploppy was still there. Being a person who didn't want to deck the guy I stayed off the table and played at another. The dealer was up and down on that table. So I left since she was on a winning streak. BTW I saw the other dealer who was at the table were the ploppy was and thanked her. Came back to the new table later and played. But, in the last 20 minutes or so I kept winning. BJs, DD A7 against a dealer's 5 and winning. Anyways I lost a couple of hands in a row, but was up $175 from the low point so I left; trying to keep myself positive about BJ.

I have a solution. Carry one of those little plastic basic strategy cards that ploppies sometimes carry. When you get these comments, whip out the card! I've seen ploppies do it, and it seems to settle things down. At least, you will be reducing discord to some extent, but you will still have to deal with count-based alterations to basic strategy. At those times, I just say I have a strong hunch a ten is coming, or some other such nonsense.

PS--The "card" will also give the pit and the dealer an answer to why you play such good basic strategy, other than the other possibility----counter.

You can't let other people affect anything you do. I am at that table for only one purpose, to earn money. I need to do whatever I need to do to make sure I do what I came to do, earn money. I do believe your "presence" at the table has allot to do with ploppy comments. If you have a perceived strength in your decisions most ploppys will not say anything. There is a fine line between strength in your decisions and good cover though so be careful. The final answer is the same for us as it is a ploppy, it's my money and I'll do what I want with it. If you know something to be the right decision you should never hesitate on making that decision...JtMM:cool:

I find it hilarious when people criticize my play. Why let it upset you?
This happened to me this afternoon. True count was +1. I got 12. Dealer's up card is 6. I stand. Since everyone got crappy hands, every one stand.

Dealer's down card is 2. She drew another 9 and made 17. Took everyone's money. The ploppy on the third place told another ploppy who raised her bet to $100 that I should take a hit. I could get to 21 and could also save the table. Because he is a Chinese and she has very bad short term memory, she thought he told her that I hit 12 so the dealer made a good hand. She is very upset and said I cost her $100.

I had to explain to her and almost lost my concentration on running count.

You had to explain?:rolleyes: Hmmm,,,,not the right move my friend.:)

Learn to love ploppies as they are very interesting and entertaining people and you can actually play off of them in your act. Plus this is the Christmas season so we should make an extra effort to be of good cheer.:)

Normally I wouldn't say anything. But she was very VERY upset. It was her last bet. She put everything up.

You should love a ploppie every day of the year, not just during the Christmas season. Without them CC's couldn't exist. The casino industry tolerates us because of them. And if you think the casino industry doesn't tolerate us, take ploppies out of the equation and see what ya get. Nothing but CSM's and 8 deck, 40% pen games with lousy rules.

Plus, as CP stated: they are free entertainment.

Love. Love. Love.

Love a ploppy every day
Not just at Christmas time

Without them good games would go away
And we would never make a dime

Love. Love. Love.
