Las Vegas Here I come

Only 6 days until my vacation. A few days at my moms then I am spending 2 nights in Vegas.

I am still practicing my strategy for single and thanks to some people here also double deck.

I made strategy cards by printing them out off this website and cutting them down and gluing them to 3 x 5 index cards. They will let me refer to the cards rights? I don't want to do anything illegal my hubby already told me he won't bail me out of jail LOL!!

I am not very proficient at counting but I can casually count keeping track of the big cards. But I am going to just follow the strategy and decide how much I'll win or lose for each session and stick to it. My bankroll is $500 so at a $5 table I should do ok. ( I hope anyways)

Does anyone know of any free strategy software? I'll have my laptop but I don't think there is any Internet on the plane. My flight is pretty short too only about 2 hours.

This is a great place i have gotten some great advice and tips to improve my game

Casinos will let you use strategy cards, but if you are using homemade ones, they may hassle you. In the beginning, I used a few homemade cards and the pit wanted to both examine them and have me explain them. One was very perplexing to them and two bosses had a discussion before permitting me to use it. It's easier just to use the ready made ones you can print off this site.
Best of luck

are you serious, ima print some cards up real nice like some bullshit ones right. and come off as an idiot to the pit. IE some bad wanna be counter, then get smart and hide the winnings.

I have an idea that might work for you. Open the strategy trainer from this site. Let it load and hibernate your laptop ( or let it sleep ) , don't close the browser. The trainer works even if there is no internet. I just tried it with my macbook. Good luck with your trip. Come back with some good news and advice to share with us.

No such thing as casually counting. You're playing with an edge, or you're not.

There's nothing wrong with playing BJ for fun and giving the house their edge. But don't go jumping your bets because you happened to see a few extra small cards last round. My advice would be

1) Keep your bets low. Preferably flat betting table minimum if you can do that and still have fun.
2) Play at full tables
3) Play with slow dealers (who will probably also be the ones holding a conversation with the players, and generally providing a fun atmosphere)
4) Don't go overboard tipping. There's nothing wrong with tipping the dealer nothing (But don't stiff the cocktail servers)
5) Take lots of breaks. Don't be afraid to sit out the end of a shoe if you've been losing. Or better yet, if the blackjacks have been flowing like wine, not a bad idea to take a break for the next shoe. On the other hand, if the dealers been pulling miracle 6 card 21s over and over ... you might want to stick it out and see if things turn around.
6) Bring a BS card and follow it religiously

Following this advice, there's 0 chance that you aren't going to come out way ahead when you factor in the free drinks.

While most of that advice is pretty good, the part about having a zero chance of not coming out ahead is utter nonsense. Not a single bit of your advice will overcome the fact that each hand is played at a disadvantage. It's quite possible the player can follow both your advice and BS perfectly and still lose the entire $500 over the course of a few days. Now, if she were to consume $600 worth of liquor in those two days, it would be a different story.

Sorry ... I meant 0 chance that your expected loss wouldn't be well offset by your liquor winnings. You are absolutely correct that you can still lose 50-100 units in a weekend flat betting.

Though if you're somewhere like the Venetian or Bellagio drinking top shelf liquor and playing $5/hand ... you still might be able to outdrink a -2 or -3 SD loss. That would have to be really early in the morning though to find those minimums.

I don't think I'll be drinking $600 worth of liquor. My days of heavy drinking are long gone and I won't drink much while I am playing Blackjack.

Having fun is I what I am planning and maybe win a little bit. I'll probably stick to a $5 bet. Still working on the strategy trainer whenever I get a chance and I think I just about have the BS down. I'll take my strategy cards from this website with me just in case. I had some great times playing in Reno with good dealers and other players.

I want to play craps a little bit too. Last time I played I did pretty good except for throwing the dice off the table the first time I rolled.

I am not going to any shows this time and doubt if I'll go see those male strippers LOL.
