I have played this side bet at times when the table allows. Some days I do well and some I don't. I start playing it if I get my bankroll up a bit and then I usually win enough times to keep this bet up without breaking another $5 chip into $1's.
Up here at the Cascades Casino, there are different winning odds; 4:1 for any 20, 9:1 for suited 20, 19:1 for suited pair of 20, and 125:1 for a pair of Queen of Hearts and if the dealer has a blackjack when you have the Queen of Hearts pair it is 1000:1. The dealers and players have told me that people who win the Queen of hearts pair are the ones that play this side bet always. It has happened quite a few times at the casino and a few times when the dealer has had a BJ.
I played this side bet off and on last week and didn't do well. Near the end of my chips/stay I stopped playing the side bet and I got the Queen of hearts pair! It's tough when you get it and you were playing this bet off and on. I think you have to either play it always or not play it at all. It's an awful feeling when you stop playing this bet and then get the ladies.
