Maintaning a good cover w/the pit crew and dealers

The more I'm around this game the more I find that presenting a good cover and camouflage to be as important (or more so) than keeping rack of the count and playing the indices correctly. You can play the game perfect and yet find oneself getting hostile looks.

Or the boot.

So I "collect" Indian casinos with good rules. There I will attack them INFREQUENTLY and maintain good relations with the staff. They actually act like they miss me when I eventually do come around! Sometimes I flat bet several shoes making conversation with the dealers. I talk a lot anyway so that's easy.

The relationship we have with the casino is somewhat similar to the ficticious Col. Hogan and his Nazi keepers at the Stalag: He's earned their friendship but they don't realize the depth he has infiltrated their system or his cunning.

So treat your dealer like Sargent Shultz: He's just some poor kid from a trailer hoping to hell he can pay his rent and not lose his job. These poor saps are just trying to make a living. They are not the evil bastards running the show. Once in a while I run into a Col "Bucholtzer" dealer who takes himself too seriously though those these punks usually work the pit, not the tables. Even then a little charm can disarm them.

I kind of identify with that character on Hogan Heroes who was played by Richard Dawson...

Please do not make the error of looking down on "Indian" casinos and their employees or being condescending or feel you can "collect" them.

Why not try treating them with respect and appreciate that they often offer you much better games than the trash in AC, or even better than much of Vegas.

If you like them, tip the dealers, be nice, smile, do not get angry when you lose, and again..RESPECT them. A few short years ago these tribes were dirt poor, had nothing and now they make a decent living entertaining you and very often giving you a very fair game. :)
