Mandalay Bay tram

#1
If I want to hang out most of the day at the Mandalay Bay and I prefer not to stay over there which casino is the closest via the tram (NYNY (via the station at the Excalibur), Excalibur or Luxor)?
I remember that there is a tram from the Excalibur to Mandalay bay but I don’t remember if the tram at the Luxor is direct to Mandalay Bay or via the Excalibur?

Luxor is geographically closest, but I think the tram runs MB->Lux->Exc->MB. It really doesn't matter which way the tram runs, if you take the short loop one way, you take the long loop on the way back.

If you're going from Luxor to MB, though, it's almost certainly useless to ride the tram. The tram stops at Luxor and Excalibur are both outside and out of the way - it's quicker, cooler, and more interesting just to walk through walkways.

Note also that the Excalibur tram stop is on the northeast corner of Excalibur - if you insist on travelling by tram, NY-NY is as close to Mandalay Bay as Excalibur is.

If you plan to play a lot of poker, ask for room discounts through the poker room. There will be a minimum requirement but the savings are substantial.

Thanks,
How long is the walk form Luxor to MB?

I've never timed it, but it's not far and goes through a nice mall so you can walk very quickly. If I had to guess, it'd be an 1/8th of a mile and a 5 minute walk at a leisurely pace. You could probably walk it in less than 2 minutes if you walk quickly.

The connection is only marginally longer than the connection between Paris and Bally's, if that's of any use as a comparison.

In general, none of the trams on the Strip are worth it, even the monorail. All suffer from the same fundamental problem, which is that the tram stations are not well-integrated with the casinos. As a result, walking to the tram station itself is often as far as walking over to the next casino, and then waiting for the tram often takes as long as well. Then, when you reach your destination, you need to walk from the tram station to the casino. So really, unless you're going more than 2 casinos over, you're not saving any energy, and unless you're going more than 3 casinos over, you're not saving any time. The only ride which might be worth the time is the monorail from MGM to Harrah's, but even then, it's only slightly worth the time and the money you have to pay is definitely not worth it.

If you're travelling up to the Hilton, the monorail is the way to go. If you're travelling within the Strip, just walk everywhere. Or find a cute girl and split a cab.
