I gave it a good shot but came out a loser. Got a little too aggressive tripling things that I normally wouldn't even have doubled, like A9 vs 5.....worth the shot? I don't know. I got beat alot on stuff like that but I still think it was worth the risk at the time. Other people were doing equally crazy "looking" things so a move like that, good or not, just blended right in with everyone else I think. Got there around 5 am to make sure I was seated comfortably if and when any chaos began. Keep in mind, this one-day promotion had been heavily advertised all through the casino for weeks, alot of people were obviously there for this event. By 8 am, it almost seemed like a weekend crowd to me. Lots of $100 to $200 per hand betting going on, all table minimums were much higher than normal for a weekday morning and penetration was noticeably worse, looked barely above 50, maybe 55% to me. For anyone that is curious, there was a "catch"....you could not triple after splitting your hand, tripling was only allowed on your initial two cards. I guess that was kind of implied in the advertisements they had up but it was somewhat vague how that would be handled and I did see a few early instances where, in confusion, they allowed triples after splits and paid them.
