Tight lips awards

Nothing to see here. Move along folks.
Tight lips awards will go to folks who hear, see, and or say nothings about the promos. Remember the lesson we've learned from the case of $5,000 match coupons ;).

Thursday at Mohegan

Just got back after 12 hours of play at Spanish 21 and BJ
I arrived at 11 and most tables were filled with 100 dollar better occupying two hands. It looked like most of the players were winning.
The dealers I spoke to said the casino was taking a beating
It was A Zoo
I made most of my win at Spanish 21 .

Both of my wins seemed to be made much easier then under normal play

Typing this on my i phone so forgive te typos

Got to get some sleep

I just returned as well. Played pretty close to non stop for 15 hours. If the casino was taking a beating, unfortunately it wasn't due to my efforts. I got down between 6 and 7 grand early and spent the whole day trying to climb back. Ended up only down 200 dollars plus train travel expenses. Certainly not what I was hoping for financially, but it was worth losing a day from my summer vacation for that kind of expected value. It just didn't work out for me, this time. On the plus side, I did enjoy nearly flat betting and not having to go table hopping and running like I usually do.

It was crowded, especially as the day and night wore on, but I honestly expected it to be worse. Hope you all made out better.

I gave it a good shot but came out a loser. Got a little too aggressive tripling things that I normally wouldn't even have doubled, like A9 vs 5.....worth the shot? I don't know. I got beat alot on stuff like that but I still think it was worth the risk at the time. Other people were doing equally crazy "looking" things so a move like that, good or not, just blended right in with everyone else I think. Got there around 5 am to make sure I was seated comfortably if and when any chaos began. Keep in mind, this one-day promotion had been heavily advertised all through the casino for weeks, alot of people were obviously there for this event. By 8 am, it almost seemed like a weekend crowd to me. Lots of $100 to $200 per hand betting going on, all table minimums were much higher than normal for a weekday morning and penetration was noticeably worse, looked barely above 50, maybe 55% to me. For anyone that is curious, there was a "catch"....you could not triple after splitting your hand, tripling was only allowed on your initial two cards. I guess that was kind of implied in the advertisements they had up but it was somewhat vague how that would be handled and I did see a few early instances where, in confusion, they allowed triples after splits and paid them.

Triple down

I just finished about 17 hours of very profitable triple-down play. My experience was similar to that of the others who have posted, but I'd say the pen was more like 65% - not good, but not atypical at MS. I saw a lot of people firing away two to three hands of $250 in the $100 minimum area of sky casino, but I also saw a lot of ploppies (some of whom even had printed out and brought with them the Wizard's strategy chart) acting like total idiots. Still, early Thursday, one PC told me the house was taking a real beating and not to expect to see anything like this again. Later on, though, the folks I talked to were more ambivalent and were expressing interest in the final win/loss tally for the promotion. I'll check the web sites of the local papers and post links to any stories I can find.
I found most tables I played on did allow trirpling after splitting, though some didn't. I detected no heat, even at $250 a hand.
Win or lose, I give MS a lot of credit for not ending this thing early, as did a midwest casino I read about a few years ago that offered 2:1 on blackjacks and got killed.

I'm curious how they handled "double down rescue" at Sp21. Say your main bet was $100. You tripled down $200. If you rescued, did they give you back the $200, or half your total bet?
