More Virgin Questions

Hey it's me the new guy again.

Three questions I've been pondering tonight for the resident experts among us....

In a 6 deck shoe..... is the count going to be more accurate as we get closer to the cut card (i.e closer to the shuffle). i.e. - is it advantageous to place larger bets closer to shuffle time rather than nearer the beginning of the shoe as the true count will be more accurate?? Or am I way off the mark?

Secondly.....

If I am caught counting in some lil' bum**** casino - are they likely to share info with other casinos? Or is it only Vegas/bigger places that has Griffon etc?? I'm planning on doing my apprenticeship well out the way;)

Thirdly - I am learning hi-lo.. almost there and fast enough. What books do you recommend I read to go further? I want to stay with hi-lo for a year or so at least.. but I am now ready for the workings of Illustrious 18, Bet Spreads and all the other stuff I need to take it to the next level. What book is the 'bible' I need?

Many thanks,

Mich

OH.. and one more I forgot. Is there a database or list of casinos detailing what current games they offer and the details such as 3:2 single deck as opposed to 6:5, no continuos shuffle machines, etc.

Many thanks.

yes and no lol. yes the deeper in the pack you are the greater your confidence can be. but no because well your still gonna want to bet into an advantage when it presensts early on in the pack. say if that doesn't succeed though and the count stays avantageous you just keep plugging away at that advantage. and as you go along the size of that advantage may change and so should the proportion that you bet. so in a sense that can protect you on those less confident early bets. but sometimes your gonna succeed on those bets and that sweet and if your still betting latter in the pack and that bet fails well that succesful earlier bet has helped ease the pain some lol. that sort of thing. from the 'good ole book' again:

Usually they will take you to a back room and lay your hand on a table. Then out comes this gorilla about 300 lbs and about 6 foot 5. He picks up a baseball bat and whacks across your knuckles. After that is done he wishes you to have a nice day and good luck on your counting career. If your lucky they might even comp you a taxi ride to the hospital for your knuckles. You can figure that comp in your ROI.

Or, like our man xxxRenegadexxx said, throw you in the Atlantic. :eyepatch:

Thanks Mr Frog and all else.. much appreciated. Schlesinger's notes rock. But again I am confused about single deck.... marketed as 'Single 21' around here (West Coast). Schlesinger states that single deck is way more preferable to play.. yet that any cut that has 50% penetration or less means counting is worthless.

Single 21 here is, Dealer Hits Soft 17, Double and Split ant any time, DD after splitting allowed, Surrender anytime, BJ pays 3-2, Table Min $10, Max $200. Here if I am a single player I will get 5 rounds... barely 50% of cards in the dealers hand.

Can anyone help clear up my confusion?

If you are saying you are only getting 50% penetration, I would find another game. I am finding out real quick that penetration is huge! I have found some dealers on double deck games that only cut 20-25 cards off.

Just use a bigger spread - 1-8. zg
