Mttt Airrry Kasino has taken these sh^tting actions as retaliations against surrender-whistleblowers**:

1) Pens
Pitcritters order the dealers to move the cut cards further up toward the front. Pens are gone bad (no more 1 deck cut) to "compensate" for the negative EV of the house on the surrender option.

2) Heat & intimidations
Pitcritters also order the dealers to call out to their attentions whenever a player wants to surrender his hand. Sometimes a game has gone dead until a "busy-pitcritter" OKs the surrender.

To other APs, what other forms of retaliations have you observed in there so far?

Nuts. They must have hired someone with a psychological problem who sees a counter behind every tree, with his sloped forehead and syphilitic phallus waiting to jump out and defile the hold on his tables, for his perverse, asocial gratification.

Maybe I'll go there and screw with them.

They Only Hurt Themselves

The more time they spend shuffling the less money they will make. If they wait for an OK for a surrender they are slowing down the game and they will further lose money.:joker::whip:

This was kind of my thoughts about Deleware Park 6 months ago, when I heard how concerned they were about counters and were putting in all CSM's. (turns out it's not all CSM's) My first thought was that they hired some Vegas retread from 20 years ago to run the casino.

As for Mt Airy, Those countermeasures can't last long. Calling out and waiting for an OK on every surrender decision, will bring the game to a grinding halt. That would cost them 10, 20 or 100 fold what they think they are saving. OH WAIT! That has been the casino industry's way of doing things the past few years.

Calling out surrender is pretty common. I saw it at many casinos in Las Vegas.
At Mount Airy Casino, I told the dealer that she doesn’t have to call out surrender all the time, and she asked the pit guy and the pit guy said that she doesn’t have to call out surrender after the first surrender. When the relief dealer came, he also had to be told that he doesn’t have to call out surrender after the first time.
The penetration is pretty bad now. I asked the dealer to put the yellow card way in the back, and he pointed to the notched marking on the shoe. He said that all the dealers were told to cut it there.
Mount Airy Casino still has new, green, inexperienced dealers, so an extremely wide spread $25 - $350 can easily be explained away with “I just want to win my money back.”

Rivers is doing this now. First week, I saw a couple dealers giving pretty good pen, and now they ALL use the shoe notch.

Mt. Airy – The Perfect Storm

George Toth who ran Sands Atlantic City before it closed is the current CEO of Mount Airy

Inexperienced staff, dealers, croupiers, PC’s, etc.

The Pocono Mountain area has become a haven for the NYC, North New Jersey and Philadelphia “wiseguys” because of the anonymity they can maintain, the rural atmosphere of the area and the limited law enforcement capabilities.

“Less than one week after Mount Airy Casino Resort introduced table games at the Swiftwater casino, police are searching for a suspect who passed at least $1,900 in fake chips over the weekend.”

These are just a few of the factors that contribute to the state of paranoia existing at the Pocono Casino.

I visited the casino last night and personally observed the conditions posted previously.

All storms eventually pass.

There is a change in management at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.

Lisa DeNaples, owner and managing trustee of Mount Airy, has announced John Culetsu as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mount Airy Casino Resort. Culetsu spent the past 20 years managing The Crowne Plaza Hotel and most recently The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

"I'm excited and eager for the opportunity to work in the newest gaming destination in the country," said Culetsu.

According to a news release, Culetsu will take over August 10.

The news release said President and CEO George Toth stepped down Friday, to pursue other career opportunities. "George Toth brought a great deal of experience and knowledge of the gaming industry into his role as CEO. We thank him for leading us through the highly successful transformation of Mount Airy Casino Resort and we wish him continued success," said Mr. DeNaples.

The news release stated that DeNaples will serve as the general manager at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.

There must be a real reason for a casino boss' resignation or his termination of employment.

I wonder if President and CEO George Toth was "fired" because he broke Pennylvania Code § 549.9. (Surrender option) and caused Mt Airy to pay penalties. Some casino bosses are known to be fired because they broke gaming rules and caused casinos to pay huge penalties. For instance, an AC casino boss with 2 decade experiences was fired because he "overlooked" the underage gambling rule. His AC employer paid $115,000 fine and fired him for that.

BTW, Mt Airy also paid $100,000 fine for the underage gambling violation on 3/3/2010. Hmm I wonder if George was blamed and responsible for that $100,000 fine?

Often times, people are brought in to see the place thru its opening. Its possible Mr toth specializes in the opening of these resorts and moves on to another project asap. some people are great at opening a business, other are great with doing the day to day operations.

Anything is possible. George seems to be a jack of all trades. He closed the AC Sands, and somehow he was hired to open Mt Airy. What a specialist!

Hey Shad, are you still looking for a casino to buy? AC Hilton will be up for sales. It has failed to pay its mortgages for more than 12 months, and U.S. Bank (the Mortgage Holder) takes legal actions to force Hilton to sell... It's similar situation in the case of Resorts Casino vs its Landlord.

AC Hilton looks good, but its management screws it up. It will be up for sales http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/...cle_d8e53876-a1a1-11df-a1c8-001cc4c002e0.html

Unlikely- CEO's don't get fired for things like that, they let people under them take the blame for things like that.

My guess on the surrender problem was that they didn't understand the difference between early and late surrender, and decided just to be safe, no surrender. They're probably calling out the surrender to make sure the dealers aren't giving early surrender.

That's what I mean- it probably took them two weeks of dealing the game, a bunch of complaints from patrons, and a warning from state gaming to hire a consultant to tell them the difference. And they found it so confusing they want to review every surrender.
